Swansea Do Saints No Favours
Monday, 16th Mar 2015 21:55

Swansea City did Saints no favours this evening after being beaten at home by Liverpool meaning that Saints cannot move into the top five this coming weekend.

It looked good in the first half for Saints fans with Swansea looking good for at least a point, however the game was decided in the 68th minute when Jordan Henderson latched on to a through ball and although he was tackled the ball rebounded off his shins and over Fabianski in the Swansea goal.

From then on Liverpool rarely looked troubled as they pushed themselves four points ahead of Saints.

The good news for Saints tough is that Swansea in 9th place are 10 points behind us and with our far superior goal difference we are almost guaranteed 8th place now and another two wins will probably also guarantee 7th, but we want higher and although we can't get back not the top 5 over the weekend a win over Burnley will get us closer to at least one of Liverpool and Manchester United and ideally both of them if they draw.

The race for the top four is far from over yet, but tonight did Saints no favours, however they are no farther away from fourth than they were yesterday, all we can do now is start winning games and keep winning them.

Ridiculously lucky rebound saves Brend's blushes. A poor but lucky Liverpool side.

Swans played well in first half especially and deserved at least a point.

I just can't believe the luck and decisions some of the so called top clubs seem to be getting this season. It's about time we got some - as it is supposed to be evened out over the season - or at least, that is what they tell us !!
