Think about Yeovil and no-one else, says Blues skipper
Friday, 19th Feb 2016 21:59 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey skipper Michael Doyle leads his side out at Yeovil this weekend telling them to starting show the result of the hard work they put in during pre-season.

Michael Doyle says a run of seven games in 22 days will test the squad but it is a challenge they should be looking forward to.

Pompey head to the west country in sixth place after a vital win over Bristol Rovers last weekend, and face a Yeovil side still in the bottom two after a difficult season.

Doyle told the Pompey website: 'It’s brilliant to have all these fixtures — that’s what you want as a player. But it’s important that we just take it one game at a time and not look too far ahead.

'We’ve probably been a little bit guilty of that at times this season, so our focus has to be on the next match only. We’ve got ourselves right back in the mix and the league’s still wide open, so we need a big performance at Yeovil.

'All the hard work we do in pre-season is for times like this when the games are coming along thick and fast. So we need to make sure that we’re ready for each of them and try to pick up as many points as we can.'

Conor Chaplin misses out at Huish Park through injury but otherwise Paul Cook has a full suqsd to pick from, and is not expected to make many changes from the side who beat the Gas last week.
