Ex-Cherries man could be next in door at Fratton Thursday, 13th Jul 2017 20:14 by pompey-fans.com staff Ipswich striker Brett Pitman is said to be close to moving to Pompey on a free transfer as the Blues' summer business continues in impressive style. Having already added two full-backs and a goalkeeper, Kenny Jackett is now bidding to strengthen his forward line. Pitman, 29, spent seven years at AFC Bournemouth and has been at Portman Road for the past two years. He also had a short spell at Bristol City in between Bournemouth stints. Pitman has scored 132 goals in 416 career appearances and could be the main to spearhead Pompey's attack in League One. If the deal is secured, it will continue an impressive summer of business for Pompey. They signed Spurs keeper Luke McGee earlier this week on a three-year deal and had already recruited full-backs Nathan Thompson and Tareiq Holmes-Dennis from Swindon and Huddersfield respectively, the latter on a season-long loan.
