Pompey can beat anyone on their day, says Kenny Jackett. But will the clash with Doncaster prove to be one of their days?

The manager is delighted to have seen the Blues win three on the bounce - including two in League One - and says performances in games that have not yielded wins have sometimes deserved more.

Doncaster are likely to be one of the sides challenging Pompey for a place at or near the top of the table as the season unfolds and Jackett expects another difficult game, but says he has the players at his disposal who can hurt teams like Darren Moore's Rovers.

Jackett told the club website: 'We’ve had some good performance this seasons and sometimes not got the results we wanted from them. I’ve watched other games in this division where someone has said they should have won, but they haven’t, or that they should have taken their chances.

'It’s a close and competitive league and there are no easy matches — we can certainly beat anybody on our day. We’ve got good players in the attacking areas and it’s about getting those guys on the ball and finding the right combinations at the right time.

'If you want to be a successful side then you need to match that with teamwork and also solid defending. Games are generally very tight and when you get to 60 or 70 minutes, then you want people who can make a real impact.'
