Pompey's point holds frustrations for Jackett
Sunday, 8th Dec 2019 20:28 by pompey-fans.com staff

Pompey manager Kenny Jackett didn't know whether to laugh or cry after seeing the Blues trail and lead against Peterborough - then concede to draw 2-2.

Lee Brown and Ellis Harrison were on target as the Blues pushed Posh all the way but were unable to claim a victory.

Jackett told the Pompey website: 'I’ve got mixed emotions because it was quite a good performance from us and one which saw us on top. But Peterborough have those players up front who get them goals and they don’t need many chances to score.

'The front pair got one each and I can’t think of many other opportunities they had, but they can turn matches. I thought we showed good spirit and commitment and really took the game to our opponents, which is something we always set out to do.

'There was a lot of endeavour and the work-rate — which always has to be there — is improving all the time. From a neutral’s perspective it was an excellent contest and end-to-end times, with both sides setting out to attack.

'It has to be a balance, though. Last season we were the second top scorers in our division and now we have to go back to zeroes and ones in the other column. Sometimes you’re very pleased with a point, but this one does have some frustrations as well because I felt there was a win there for us.'
