Pompey's points total and position shows strength of League One, says Jackett

Pompey will face a stiff test when they host Coventry on Easter Monday lunchtime looking for their seventh league win in a row.

With all the top having won their first Easter fixture there is absolutely no room for error or dropped points if the Blues want to keep up the push for second spot.

The game brings Conor Chaplin back to Fratton just nine days after he did his old club a favour with City's winner at Sunderland. But Blues boss Kenny Jackett quite rightly wants his players to focus on their performance.

Jackett told the club website: 'Performances have been good lately and if the fans see another one on Monday then I’m sure they’ll get behind us. They were excellent at Burton on Friday — as they have been throughout the season — and are a real asset to this club.

'It’s a tight turnaround, but it’s the same for both sides and we have a good squad, so I’m confident that people could step in if required. We’re keeping the pressure on Luton and Barnsley — to have the points total we’ve got and still be in fourth position just shows the quality of this league.'

Jackett said Coventry were unfortunate not to have played their way into play-off contention with a strong second half of the season.

The manager is considering a change or two to the starting line-up to freshen things up less than 72 hours after the win at Burton. Bryn Morris and Omar Bogle are among those pushing for a start in this 12.30pm kick off.
