MP is turning into a tactical genius! He's worked out every which way to defeat West Brom! Unfortunately I don't think we have enough years left in the Prem for him to suss out the other 18 teams.

Should have been three up by HT. Smithies several very good saves second half better Smyth and Eze very good performance by both anyone see the header Smyth won against the big defender amazing. Smyth and Smith seem to have a good understanding very good cross for the second goal.Bolton very ordinary can see why they are in trouble. Crowd seem to wake up after the sending off which looked harsh from the upper loft but seeing it back on tv can see why given. The ref was terrible lost count of the shirt pulls on Smith and inconsistent decisions.

Convinced that the penalty was correct at first sight........now, having looked a bit closer not so sure!

We improved when we went from 10 to 11 men when Reed allowed Prowsey to come off. And luckily won the match when we went from 11 to 12 men (referee).

Are you moaning that we had a bit of luck or fortune for a change ? I didn't see alot wrong with our goal , I haven't seen theirs but I hear it may have been handball again

There was nothing wrong with our goal but we wouldn't have had a break on without the ref's help.

As much as I can't stand Redmond his 4.5 was harsh. Sure he was no Josh Sims but he did some decent things today. That said it is time that Josh Sims was a regular starter. But for an amazing save the lad would have scored a screamer. They say our academy is not as good as it was. Well Sims, Targett, Hesketh, Seager could all be banging on the door. As for the match as a whole? Well same stuff different day. Wasn't until Romeu (Too defensive) and Tadic left the field did we look much better. I have to say a midfield 2 of Lemina and Hjobjerg is much better for us than Romeu. He is hard as nails but a yellow card waiting to happen and offers very little going forward. Same isolation of the striker. Finally we play 2 up front as a panic and it pays dividends. Tactically Pellegrino is a dinosaur. If it doesn't work... keep doing the same thing... when not winning he finally does something. Why not start the game with those tactics?

I haven't been able to watch our last few games, but watching this one I get to understand some of the frustrated comments on this site!! Astonishing how both sides seem to show so little drive and urgency...perhaps because their unadventurous styles mirror each other? Or else, it's just that neither side, especially Saints, has a bona fide leader on the pitch. At any rate, it looked as if both teams were sleepwalking or just hanging around waiting for something to happen. Unacceptable lack of energy from Saints in the position their in.
Beyond that, let's state the obvious.....This is how it's supposed to work: an accurate cross from a speedy young AM, header down by CF, swivel and score from #10. The reason we've not seen it this whole season is, obviously, MP has no attacking ideas at all. He's bankrupt.
One other comments.
Our 2 central defenders were woeful today. Both of them seem unable to grasp the principle that, if you don't attack crosses, the opposition will! They also were positionally inept all afternoon, and their passing was way worse than usual. They really both seemed as if they were practising for the Championship.

Scrappy game.
Very nice to see Gabbiadini come in and score a "no. 10 goal". Another assist from Carrillo. Another impressive subst. performance from Sims. Good point for us. Bring on Stoke.

A scrappy dull game. Redmond did very well. Simms and Gabbi should be in the team from the start though.

Still look disjointed in attack, bloody passbacks when attacking wind me up, but at least Mopo got the subs right.
