It was discussed in the House of Commons this afternoon. Sport and Culture minister, Mims Davies said she will look into it after the MP for Wythenshawe said it was a ridiculous penalty to hand out to someone tryng to protect his players from racism.
The fine handed out to the linesman (who admitted making his comments) shows how little the authorities actually care. It shouldn't matter whether it happens at Wythenshawe or Barcelona. Racism needs stamping out and sentences need to reflect the public attitude towards racism.
