Rest of the Championship thread by Hunterhoop 10 Aug 2024 11:07Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?
For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?
Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.
Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

I’d be surprised if he got another Championship job after the disaster at Leicester. Fully expect Rowett will come in and get them winning again and up the table: bad attitudes or not there is a top ten squad of players in terms of ability. |  | | |

Good luck to Rowett as Leicester seem a complete mess currently; and I wouldn't hold that against Cifuentes. People would probably point to what he managed with us as signs of a decent manager. |  |

Deal until the end of the season. Would assume there’s a nice bonus for keeping them up and a longer contract on offer if it’s not a disaster. Gets him a few months’ work and into the shop window to be the next manager of Championship Club X if he’s perceived to have done a decent job but can’t be bothered with the unenviable task of sorting out that mess of a squad over the summer. | | | |

I said at the time, why appoint someone like Mason if you aren't going to give him time. To replace him with 'Eric Ramsay' is just wild. They could do worse than Marti, took a far worse side than theirs and made them look respectable in a short time. | |
