This footage shows the Gordon penalty incident a bit better. It certainly looks to me like the defender catches his left foot. Looks more a penalty than an obvious dive. The yellow card for a dive looks very harsh as its not 100% clear and the ref shouldn't be guessing.

To me that angle just proves what you say, the referee has guessed as it can't be obvious someone has dived when they haven't. If unsure he should just be waving away penalty claims and we can just moan about that.
Can't even make a complaint that it's us getting crap referees (for or against) because it seems to be everywhere - Boreham Wood v Forest Green the best example this weekend. This is the standard.
