I'd be more worried about the fog.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Just heard the weather forecast. It doesn't sound great.

I remember us playing Tranmere in a top of the table game years ago, When I got into the ground behind the goals at the Pearl St end you couldn't see the half way line. Of course the game was started but it was called off after about 20 minutes, without a refund obviously.

When Spotland hosted the Great Britain youth versus Australia youth Rugby League game a year or two back you could only just see as far as half way across the pitch from the main stand. Several tries were scored down the far side but nobody knew who'd scored them !

The Aussie lads were flying back the next day so the game had to go on.

Fog lifting. We can now see the dome of St Johns RC Church, Parish Church and Town Hall Tower from the Mizzy Road area.

It's going to be unpredictable, and the fog could easily descend again but right now it's no worse than a typical dull day, with the temperature set steady at a good level

I can't recall the last time we had a game postponed/abandoned due to fog? The ground is on a bit of a rise so that possibly helps, fingers crossed

I live near the ground and I have just inspected my back garden and even without covers being down the ground is soft and totally playable. Not sure why a pitch inspection is needed.

I can't imagine it is Shrews, they will have long since set off, 'd guess the referee just wants to be 100% sure.

Life is a game of fate.
