Dave, the song was written by a chap from Littleborough called Jeff Moore, who used to have an act in the 60s/70s called The Wandering Minstrel. (Google "The Wandering Minstrel Jeff Moore" and his book comes up on there)
He has also been an extra in many TV shows, such as Corrie, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, etc.
Roccy knows him (and TalkingSutty might as well) and Jeff will no doubt turn up at the Sunday quiz at The Sun tomorrow night.

Thanks for the info. I honestly cant remember the song. I imagine it was for sale in the club shop for £2 on a tape at the time.
It reminded me of a typical 1980's cup final song, or Chesterfields wonderful 1997 song, we can build our dreams, which im sure you are familiar with!
