Just heard the weather forecast. It doesn't sound great. I remember us playing Tranmere in a top of the table game years ago, When I got into the ground behind the goals at the Pearl St end you couldn't see the half way line. Of course the game was started but it was called off after about 20 minutes, without a refund obviously. When Spotland hosted the Great Britain youth versus Australia youth Rugby League game a year or two back you could only just see as far as half way across the pitch from the main stand. Several tries were scored down the far side but nobody knew who'd scored them ! The Aussie lads were flying back the next day so the game had to go on. [Post edited 30 Dec 2016 15:09]

It's going to be unpredictable, and the fog could easily descend again but right now it's no worse than a typical dull day, with the temperature set steady at a good level I can't recall the last time we had a game postponed/abandoned due to fog? The ground is on a bit of a rise so that possibly helps, fingers crossed

The pitch.. on 15:40 - Dec 30 with 1381 views | sykeboy | Surprised at this temps well above tonight can only think recent frost must still be in the pitch.....take it the covers have been down??
The pitch.. on 15:48 - Dec 30 with 1301 views | isitme | I live near the ground and I have just inspected my back garden and even without covers being down the ground is soft and totally playable. Not sure why a pitch inspection is needed.

I can't imagine it is Shrews, they will have long since set off, 'd guess the referee just wants to be 100% sure.
