And finally, in the North Stand at AFC Fylde....... 15:07 - Dec 24 with 5866 viewsRAFCBLUE

....it appears that the AFC Fylde Twitter feed has captured the former Dale CEO.

Is the bloke standing underneath that bar sign really who we think it is?

Could the former CEO really be working in the National League North?

Or has he also been following them since the 1960's?

Chorley (mate, manager etc) play them on Boxing Day. I’ll ask if he meets any bellends from the opposition claiming to be a fan for over 50 years.

You have to wonder why AFC Fylde haven't announced such an important appointment.

You also have to wonder why somebody as prolific as Mr Bottomley on LinkedIn hasn't updated it with this new role.

Its almost as if they wanted it to slip under the radar. Either that, or Mr Bottomley is already in charge of communication at Fylde.

Either way, its the footballing equivalent of a lump of coal in your stocking at Christmas!

One of their fans on Twitter says it’s true. Hopefully a couple of his acolytes will follow him - and their family members too with a bit of luck.

We've had a LOT of interest tonight from Fylde fans on twitter, asking why Dale fans would be so vehemently against Mr Bottomley getting involved in another football club. There is also a general feeling that their chairman wouldn't jeopardise his reputation (& legacy) by appointing somebody who isn't a good fit... by all accounts he is well connected & fans think he would make an informed decision.

Obviously we are educating them and sharing information with them that is freely available in the public domain such as the Hasbro case, and the Southall / Curran / Jarvis meeting at Spotland earlier this year (they're also working their way through the Hostile Takeover thread)... but we wouldn't be surprised if they reach out on here, to the Trust, or to individuals on twitter, to build a holistic view of the feelings towards Mr Bottomley (& the risk he may present to their club) before they take further action in the new year.

It comes back to the question - if David Bottomley has been successful in his application to the role of CEO, AFC Fylde - why hasn't it been announced by the club or the man himself? An ex 'elite football' CEO, football consultant, accomplished non-exec director, expert communicator, really hard worker, etc would be a real coup for a non-league team, would it not?

Surely no other team..nor any other employer in any field would be stupid enough to take this horrible person on? Should face proceedings imo never mind getting another job.

Just look what he did to us. Not having all the crap about Jarvis being at fault. It was all Bottomley. He brought in all the other. bidders for Dale. Without his sceming we wouldn't have had all the trouble.

Feel awful for Fylde fans. Really do.

I doubt very much he'll have anywhere near the level of control that he engineered at Rochdale.

He shouldn't even be in charge of brewing up. He's bad news in any capacity.

All we can do is warn them and hope they take it on board and so something about it. A bit like another thread on here.

I notice that Chorley won 2-1.
Unsure if our erstwhile former CEO was amongst those present.
