It would be interesting to know if all these people in BBC complaints actually exist or if there's one person in IT copy/pasting replies from names randomly taken from the phone book in the office?

If you complain about the reply to your complaint SM, the wait is even longer. The more complaints made the better in my view. Otherwise it'll never stop. It probably won't anyway.

"We are sorry to learn you weren’t satisfied with our earlier response and appreciate that you felt strongly enough to contact us again.

Although we aim to reply at this next stage within 20 working days (four weeks), we are currently handling a higher than normal volume of cases so apologise if it may take longer than usual to reply. If so we will let you know. For full details of our complaints process please visit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/how-we-handle-your-complaint

Please don’t reply to this email because it’s an automated acknowledgement sent from an account which can’t receive replies. If you do need to get in touch, please use our webform instead at www.bbc.co.uk/complaints, quoting your reference number".

Don't hold your breath 49th.

I got the standard copy paste others have got and you will too no doubt. Perhaps we should send them to quest?

"Thank you for contacting us about BBC Radio Manchester.

We note your comments about the coverage of Bolton football club. We know that not everyone will agree with our choices on which stories to cover, or the order in which they appear.

Editorial decisions are more of a judgement call, than an exact science – so you’ll even find variety from one BBC programme to the next. Time constraints, the expected audience profile and the style of each bulletin or current affairs programme can all play a part.

Our editors make these complex decisions, based on the editorial merit of all the stories at hand. We accept that not everyone will agree with each decision – various factors are at play and there’s often debate in the production room too.

The BBC never takes a position on anything that we cover. It is important to recognise that a fundamental part of the role of our correspondents/sports journalists is to offer analysis, using their experience and knowledge, but this is not indicative of bias.

We would like to thank you for your feedback which is incredibly valuable to us and is formally logged and reported daily to all staff across the BBC, helping us gain a snapshot of audience opinion and evolving tastes on a range of issues that overall helps us to shape future decisions and directions in our programme-making.

Once more, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Kind regards,

Lucy Ryan

BBC Complaints Team "

I felt slightly better after firing this off.

"Dear Lucy,

Thanks for your reply. Tonight is the 7th consecutive game covering Bolton live. Regrettably, I am not stupid, and the drivel which you have copied and pasted above is an insult to anyone with even the smallest iota of intelligence. You really can reply to complaints in any way you want. At a time when the BBC needs as many friends as it can get though, due to the hugely competitive media offering available currently, I would have thought it might not be in your best interests to treat listeners like idiots. These listeners are the ones who are switching off in droves. I hope everyone at the BBC realises what this means? I also hope this is read out in your next production meeting. Ignore the people paying your wages at your peril.

I know this will fall on either deaf ears or the ears of those who don't care.

Good luck with the move from media city to Bolton.

A disillusioned Dale fan who no longer listens to the BBC and will not be renewing his license".

Not had the Odyssey but everything about Saltaire is remarkable. We are indeed spoiled.

You'd be howling at the moon here. Het Anker. Had a hopsinjoor, a trippel and now savouring an Imperial Blond - possibly the finest beer I've tasted. Brewed with several types of malt, three different spices and Belgian hops. 10%. Wow

The free kick you mentioned was also a defining moment for me. It was inside their half by a couple of yards and had come from a passage of play where we had been high up the pitch (I'm struggling to type attacking) and so had plenty of men forward. Passing back to the keeper was not only unnecessary, but really underlined our home mindset and intent. We were 1 down, at home, with 27 minutes elapsed. I am really struggling with who or what we have become as a club on the pitch now. It's stating the bl€€ding obvious but the only way to win games is to score more goals than the other team. So what do we do when we have a chance to put pressure on the opponents goal? Put pressure back on our own.

We've had and still have injuries. We've not got the best squad in the league. In the no fear era though, we always made the best of what we had. Yesterday's team looked good on paper. Coventry were good too - quick, accurate passes, kept their shape very well and attacked in numbers but squandered some chances. We made them look a lot better than they were though, as we have done with a lot of teams this year, by giving them virtually nothing to worry about for most of the game. If we'd had a go at Cov yesterday, we may even have got a result out of it. They looked worried after Alby came on and we scored. We are dull, predictable, slow in the build-up and beat ourselves more often than we beat the opposition. It is becoming tiresome beyond words and the escapism that Saturday afty brought is seeming more and more like a bad habit as each week progresses.

I get that our L1 status means a lot to us as a club financially, but I also get the feeling that our insistence on playing the way we do (to not lose rather than to win) is more likely to have the opposite effect if we persist with it into next season, when there will be 4 relegation slots rather than 3 and one probably won't be occupied by a team starting with a hefty points deduction. Reading this thread and the forum generally recently, there may be a lot less folk paying the rumoured higher prices for STs next year to sit through 23 more games of this dross. How did we "evolve" from no fear football to capitulation? It's bl00dy soul-destroying.

The Old Wellington for me every day of the week, though I have seen people giving their dogs OBB from Sinclairs on hot days in Shambles square.

Sams was always just Maltade historically. The brewer wouldn't know a hop if he fell over one. They may have introduced new beers or seasonal beers latterly but I haven't set foot in one of their houses for at least a couple of decades. Shutting any of their establishments wouldn't be a big loss imho.

It is what it is. If the lino can't run the line we can forget it. I wouldn't be surprised at that outcome either.

Nowt we can do this season apart from hope for the best each week and wait for improvements as the year progresses into next season (in every respect).

In situ and doing it's job by all accounts. Let's hope it continues to do so and we get the game on tomorrow. I'm ready for another fix now!

Shades of Donal McDermott for me. Keep waiting for him to hit his full potential.

I like the fact that he makes runs at defences and can do something a bit different to change a game.

I don't like the fact that he keeps getting pushed off the ball far too easily and is a bit short of confidence.

If we aren't stumping up too much, this probably comes under the heading "worth a punt". He's signed to summer 21 according to Sky, so it shouldn't break the bank.
