Yes, our Batsman finally showed up as a group last night. I think the bowling has been decent in red and white ball for most of the season, but at times lt is like our tail starts at around number 4 or 5!! Really enjoyed it especially after they mullered us at their place. Didn't think we had a chance of qualifying a couple of weeks ago, but now if Essex loses as DL says it is us or Durham in a straight shoot out. |

Unfortunately I think that of the 3 positions under discussion, replacing the captain is the most difficult. No obvious captain ready to go so I would pick someone inexperienced with potential ( as captain and player) rather than a stop gap, and ensure he is fully supported. 9 tests until the next Ashes start including a tough 3 match series against South Africa. If we end up with 3 different. Having said that I can't really pick who that might be !! |

What a shambles !! Hard to understand Stokes actions. Either he is just a stupid man, or he has an underlying alcohol problem that is being underplayed and where he needs support from experts. Hopefully it can be resolved before the next series against Pakistan with Root only needing to captain 2 tests. Like you say, interesting decision on Brook. I don't think he is red ball captain material & perhaps they are thinking he is just a Stokes v 2 when it comes to off field controversy. Who do you reckon should be the next full time captain? Tough call I think |

I went to the game, and it was hard to believe those last 11 deliveries, especially when the last over started against a number 10 who hadn't even faced a ball. They needed 12 from the last 3 balls but Luke wood got hit for 6 then bowled a no ball/ free hit which left 3 from the last ball. their number 10 then ramped it over the top for 4. Serious poor game management. |

I look at 2 aspects 1. Tactics, substitutions selections etc 2. Player motivation, getting the players to run through a brick wall for you and the club etc I will give him a 10 out of 10 for the latter but the jury is still out for me on point 1. League 2 has significantly more depth in terms of quality of teams and nest year will show how much he has learned. Can he do it at a level we have been at for most of the last 100+ years? He will have quite a few new players to integrate as well, so let's see. Certainly nowhere near Keith Hill in terms of what he has done, and at the end of the day we won a runners up trophy |

Couldn't agree more. If they had to kick off immediately I don't think there is anyway that score. Instead they have time to get their heads up, chat with the manager & come up with a plan. |

I said similar on another site. Already a legend but a chance to even beyond that. Optimistic for the game as I think the previous 45 games don't matter now. Pressure could get to either side & if it is close with 15 left, Hendo could be the man. |

Not over yet but Lancs in a good position, and should get it done before the next new ball. They lost their last 6 wickets for 22 runs after being ahead in the game. |

Very tight bowling after the lunch break Jimmy pushing to regain his England spot !!! Farcical run out for the last wicket |

Still a disappointing result though as we had them on the ropes for most of the day. |

I'd take a point ( although I want us to play for the win). A loss could be terminal if York get 3 wins before playing us. In fact if York do get 3 wins then a draw will be the same as a win in terms of what is needed in the last game. Wealdstone & Brackley should be good 3 point opportunities. I feel that having to win against York might be better than needing a draw because attack should be the best form of defence and I can't see us not conceding against them. |

Should be favourites today especially with that .ate wicket. would be good to start with a win after the disastrous start last season Edit: 2 quick wickets in the first 15 minutes. 23-3 [Post edited 6 Apr 11:16]

I have probably seen about 90% of the goals this season & this may a close contender for goal of the season. Always look better when they clip the bar on the way in!! |

What a game. Lost by 7 runs, with 499 runs in the day. The dropped catch by Brook unfortunately was the critical moment. |

I thought NZ were about 20 runs under par. Turns out that they were about 70 runs under!! Amazing effort and the fastest t20 century between 2 test ranked countries. Looking forward to the England game tomorrow, and hopefully a better performance than the last World Cup semi 2 years ago when India hammered us in Guyana. Buttler and Salt getting in the groove for the first time would help significantly to back up the middle order. |
