Boreham Wood at home take 3!
at 00:10 17 Apr 2024

"We've got nothing to fight for"
How about entertaining the few that turned up?

And its 7 undefeated at home, Greg. Not 8 or 9, Greg.

Agree Nevett was outstanding tonight.

Boring Dale 0 Boreham Wood 0

Same old, only one way, ineffectual, overcoached and dire to watch nonsense from players capable of so much more. We're on the cusp of something fantastic happening to the club off the field. Is it really going to be utilised in the best way with play that is so bafflingly boring to watch?

Will we ever leave a man up towards the centre circle when defending a corner so that we can drag two of their defenders away and have an outlet from a clearance who can press on to try and score or at least hold play up while the troops can gather to attack? We have players in Sinclair and Hayes, and others, who could perform that role well. Looks like a tactic that is viable in this league but alien to our manager. He'd rather invite a repeat attack from a clearance than have someone available to hold the ball up and utilise time better to our advantage.

When you weigh events of this season up, I suppose it's an OK league position, but in a poor league. All we see is the same old same old same old backwards sideways borefest. Our work in the final third tonight was abysmal, apart from East's shot that hit the bar. The last four dire draws in a row alone do not indicate the progression required for success is anywhere near imminent. Performance play only(Jim's priority), not playing with a desire to be winners.

It's a tough call, but on what our eyes tell us, Jim's time as head coach has to be under question if this is all he can offer.

Despite disillusionment with Jim's one track only the performance matters whoever else it bores style, should the Ogden takeover go through I will 100% renew my season card. This is the best hope we've had in years of being able to survive and compete on and off the pitch. What the scene will look like and how it will work, who knows, but I don't want to miss it.

I doubt few, or even none of the remarks previously made by supporters amount to hyperbole. They seem to be well observed and astute comments on where we are, what fans perceive, and what we think we could see that is better.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/hyperbole

"Meaning of hyperbole in English

a way of speaking or writing that makes someone or something sound bigger, better, more, etc. than they are:
The blurb on the back of the book was full of the usual hyperbole - "enthralling", "fascinating", and so on."

We heard a lot of that from the presenter at the end of season awards do tonight. Not on this forum which is more honest.

I wrote this to myself after BIFFO's away.

"Jim has guided us through some barren times this season and kept things together, so he deserves credit for that. We have stayed up! Disappointed with Jim's post-match interview though. Despite the state of the pitch here, or anywhere, he is still insisting on playing in a manner that is more difficult on poor surfaces.

"That's the most important thing to me, how we play our football" he said, again. So reminiscent of BBM telling us the team were wonderful in defeat because they kept to style. As EllDale said, (Red card thread?) "Let’s get out of this mindset originally fostered by BBM of style over substance".

Results, points, entertainment, adapting to the state of the game to improve our chances of success lag behind in importance. This is the way we play, we don't change, it's boring to watch most of the time and lets every other team in the league know what we will do. Gives opponents an advantage every game. If Jim can only offer one way, and refuses to budge on the one way, his tenure has to be questioned. He surely needs to be more open minded if we are to achieve anything?"

After what we witnessed today, nothing will ever change with Jim McNulty in charge. We've seen it too often. Totally inflexible or unable to change. Points lost yet again by having no plan B. Against a part -time relegated team who had a go rather than wanting to impress in game metrics.

I hope our potential investors can see through this charade.

From last night's game V Heed...

"There was a stoppage mid-way through the first half when Gateshead defender Joe Cook tried to get on the end of a free-kick and slid off the pitch into the advertising boards. After receiving treatment, Cook was back on his feet, but was swiftly substituted."

Jim's post-match seems to indicate an appeal against the red card is being considered. The irony of the Poolies singing "Your not fit to referee" at the hapless official a few minutes before Mitchell's red says a lot about the calibre of the referee today. He had us playing in yellow and allowed 'Pools 'keeper to play in, erm, yellow. No clash there unless you have sight problems.

I hope their 29 Parkes (the bloke dying with two broken legs yet was able to complete the game) gets his comeuppance one day, or at least an Oscar nomination. What a vile individual.

We looked at bit more interesting going forward in the first half than of late, but there is still so much wasteful tippy tappy sideways backwards going on that consumes time and drains the enthusiasm of those watching. The irony of how we equalised showed one or two of the senior fans in The Sandy to have a better idea than Jim how we could get a goal!

A wrong was righted, and a draw was a fair result. A shocking miss by Mitchell first half, some great saves by Chapman second half.

Given the criticism the BIFFO's are giving their lot online tonight, one can only wonder how uninspiring next Saturday may be. Cue a classic!

Dale fans know who the bad guys are. We have experience and are very good at it. Little has been said about the current set of potential owners because they have been scrutinised and look a million times more credible than the clowns from 2020 / 21. Hence little criticism on here. Honesty counts, pretence is worth nothing.

Southall never owned a single share in RAFC, never mind 25%. He was invited in by an Alexander Jarvis viz a viz "a deal that went wrong". The rest is a matter of historical record. Southall was eventually declared bankrupt.

As long as kel has achieved his aim, that'll do.

After four games of well below par performances, it's great to see such a comprehensive result and, by all accounts, this Dale team at their best. Just what supporters need when things are difficult off the pitch. A big well done to Jim and the players. More of the same please!

New Trust Statement..
at 00:35 16 Mar 2024

A much appreciated update and good to hear Dale Trust are seriously involved on behalf of their members and all fans. Thank you. A situation us fans and shareholders are not used to but we have to embrace it. Best wishes to all for a successful conclusion and never forget: RAFC comes first in all of this.

Dale Trust Meeting With WSH LLC
at 00:21 15 Mar 2024

442Dale - Brilliant. NAIL ON HEAD moment.

Prior to the 7th March EGM, we had the club Chairman all over the media telling the "liquidation" narrative. As the EGM commenced, said chairman was threatening a board meeting Friday morning to liquidate the club and possibly no game v Oxford City on Saturday. The world, and his wife, the shareholders, Dale fans and surely the National League knew we were about to go bust, from his mouth.

How do the National League rules address such a scenario? The rules of the league we compete in say:

"2.18 If during the course of a season the Board decide that the organisation and management or finances of a particular Club fall below the standards appropriate to membership of the Competition, the Competition Secretary shall be instructed to warn the Club at once that it may be excluded from membership of the Competition at the end of that playing season. Such a Club shall have the right to appeal to The FA within 14 days of the date of notification of the Board’s decision."

Those are the rules. You can find them here. https://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/downloads/rules

Now, I doubt we'll know if such a warning has occurred, but the RAFC chairman has most definitely invited it. How will that affect our status as a National League or even National League North club? (Same rules apply). Technically, our rules unaware chairman is guiding us towards the 7th tier by blagging our potential liquidation to suit his desire for shareholders to vote in favour of 7th March EGM resolutions. We'll see how that pans out but if the NL are on the ball, so to speak, it's possible.

Unless the "liquidation" scenario was poppycock designed to fool shareholders. We'll see.

The Football Club LLC - Plans for Rochdale
at 16:51 14 Mar 2024

An impressive read with good motivation behind it. However, as with WSH, the source of funding seems vague, with references to outside capital, possibly.

Both bidders will need to be more concrete with proof of funding to satisfy the National League rules as the minimum requirement.

FYI: From national league rules: Transfer as a Going Concern
2.9.1 In the event that any Club which resolves to transfer its membership of the Competition from one legal entity to a different legal entity, other than in the circumstances shown at 2.9.2 below, the Board will use the following minimum criteria in deciding whether to approve that transfer:
(a) The shareholders or members of the Club have voted to agree to the transfer of the Club’s membership to the new entity.
(b) All Football Creditors in the Club must be paid in full or transferred in full (with each creditor’s consent) to the new entity, and evidenced as such.
(c) All other creditors in the Club must be paid in full or Secured or transferred in full (with each creditor’s consent) to the new entity and evidenced as such.
(d) The proposed new entity has provided financial forecasts to The FA and the Competition showing its ability to fund the Club for the next twelve (12) months or to the end of the Playing Season following transfer (whichever is the longer) and that evidence of funding sources has been provided.
(e) The FA must have given approval for the transfer to take place.
