Do any of them ever really speak for any of us? There’s never been a perfect political party for me in my lifetime. I just pick the one that’s closest or, thanks to our archaic voting system, has the best chance of beating the one that’s least close. |

Fortunately I now live in one of the places the Tories might as well not run in so it’s between Labour and Greens. Wasn’t a fan of the Greens anyway but less so now they’ve attracted an assortment of cranks. Starmer isn’t exciting but then I don’t want politicians to be exciting. He’s achieved a lot in his life without being dealt a brilliant hand and it’ll be nice to just have a sensible adult in charge. It’ll need two terms to get even close to sorting out and I doubt he’ll fancy the second of those but I really hope the lot in now are done for a long long time. The rats are deserting but hopefully we get a few big names crying in a leisure centre somewhere. |

Maybe he’s changed but he was very much one who liked the footballer lifestyle a tad too much at one time. |

Germany would. They know the fans will lynch them if they don’t. I expect Spain will be first to go and we won’t be too far behind. Wolves v Fulham in Doha. The locals will be buzzing. |

If Chair and/or Willock goes I’d like Sorba Thomas. From London, good age, seemed to carry that Hudds team on his own (much like Chair) at times. I’m a bit wary of relegated players but for him and Rudoni I’d make an exception. Not sure about the Rotherham goalkeeper but everyone insists he’s a top player and will go somewhere bigger than us. Can’t say I’ve seen it when he’s played us or I’ve seen them on the box. |

I’m not calling for fewer games (just get on with it, we used to do 100 hours in t’pit then play on a Saturday etc.) and injuries are just part of the game. You don’t get many broken legs these days and shin pads aren’t going to do a lot for ACLs and muscle strains/tears which must be the majority of injuries. |

Would hope we’re at least aware of the Crawley goalkeeper. The sort of stats the stats bods tend to love and he makes Dieng look like Ronnie Corbett. |
| Forum Reply | We Just Dont Get Enough From Our Strikers at 08:07 14 May 2024
Obviously his end product isn’t great but then he’s a sub for a mediocre Championship team for a reason. I think that stat is as much a damning indictment of the strikers as him and as an outlet getting us up the pitch and a better defensive option than the other wide players he’s a valuable squad player IMO as long as he’s content with that role which I suspect he is. |

He probably looked really good in youth football. Then you see these kids from academies play against men and it’s a different world. I’d argue he may have been a more effective player without his background and maybe was over-coached in the ‘right’ way to play and has never adapted to the reality of real lower league football. Signing him wasn’t illogical but having him as a top earner was. |

Pretty certain we’d have binned him had we gone down considering his wages. Just can’t see him doing it in L1. If I were him I’d be trying to get a club abroad in a league where the chronic flaws in his game aren’t quite so exposed. |

Some of their football was sublime too. If they win and keep the team together they’ll upset a few of the big sides next year. Horrible little ground to go to. |

Not that I’ll pretend to know loads about him but know a couple of people who go to watch them occasionally and say he’s great and he looks the part. Great with his feet, athletic and not afraid to bash people out the way to claim the ball. Interesting career path not making it at Arsenal or Cov and spending time abroad. |

Sounds like a club in danger of falling further. The sentiment from the fans was he wasn’t the issue. |
| Forum Reply | Harry Kane at 07:18 10 May 2024
Think it’s more a case of a great player let down by inept teammates. Expect similar will happen this summer due to a combination of the manager and the defence. Leverkusen had a ludicrous season that won’t be repeated so if he stays there another year or two he’ll win the league almost certainly. |

Wonder if he’s getting paid so much to not manage Chelsea it’s not worth it. Doubt he’d come down to our level apart from maybe a massive massive Leeds type of club and even that I’m not sure. |

Interesting. Guess it’s linked to the thing about teams struggling away with only a few days rest. |

Conversely if Cifuentes goes then we could do worse than Rosenior. |
