I have e-mailed the club and the sales and marketing manager quoting this forum and comments on here by way of expressing my disappointment.

Weston-super-Mare (Conference South, average attendance c300) used something like that for their FA Cup game against Doncaster which I went to. I printed off my own ticket along with several hundred other people judging by the queue at the turnstiles. Terrace only, which made things easier obviously. Downside is that I am now on their database so I get marketing emails when I am extremely unlikely to go again.
I did a survey about a year ago when this subject came up before. From memory we were one of about 4 clubs in the Premier and Football League which did not do online ticketing. I think most of the conference premier clubs at that time did it as well.
I'm no computer expert, but I would have thought this type of thing was an off-the-peg type of product that you would just have to alter the seating plan on. The club obviously have an offline version of this to allow them to manage these events at the moment, so as a non-expert it would seem comparatively easy to convert it.
I also think it is misleading to think it is only needed for games like this one. The point is to make it easier for you in your marketing to persuade floating fans to buy tickets for normal games, though I am not a marketing expert either. |  | | |

Tickets for the clash v Stoke City are on sale now and can be bought by calling the See Tickets Call Centre on 01158960130. The call centre is open 24 hours a day. Booking fees apply. There is no need to submit voucher B to the club.
Season Ticket holders should have their Rochdale AFC customer ID to hand when phoning to purchase their tickets, this can be found on your Season Ticket book.
This service is currently only available to Season Ticket holders due to the priority purchase period which we currently have in place. Non season ticket holders will, however, be able to purchase their tickets via this service once they go on open sale.

If it's needed for one game a season, then it's worth it.
This is 2015 and people are used to being able to buy stuff from their home or on the go. Businesses that don't offer these services will lose out in the long run. |  |

Being able to buy over the phone easily is great news. Presumably they're linked up to a "live" system so that when tickets are bought at the club the call centre can see what's available when someone rings up, so does that mean the next step is online sales? | |
