44 blocks in lower tier, 4 in corners hold barely any, leaving 40

So how could Carlisle fill half (19.5 sections) when they only ventured round to the 18 yard box, less 2 for Club Wembley so around 15 sections x 850 =12,750 if all sold.
My 14,000 was generous

44 blocks in total, you have taken an extra circa 2.5 blocks, leaving them 19.5 blocks. 784 seats average per block. Do the maths.

Yes, coming out for hundreds of cup games above 30k, 35k, 40k, 45k, and some for 50k

as well as averaging over 37k even with the owners probably taking a bung, so those figures might be over 40k average.

So the league averages over 37k were how long ago?

Oh yes, twice (1949 & 1950)

"Pompey : Largest individual away following attendance at neutral venue (Wembley 2019) National Record"

Lets keep it simple, 40k v Sunderland, is this a National Record?

Yes/No?

Let's keep it simple, 85k split between 2 clubs = 42.5k

Soton or Birmingham? well we had an extra 2.5 blocks, and we took club Wembley,my mate Roger got an extra 2,000 tickets off this bloke from Cumbria cos Carlisle didn't fill 2 of their blocks, Lawrie McMenemy sat on 2 seats all by himself, and my mates's girlfriend is 40 stone, and she sat on 4 seats ; so that counts as 4. MLT took over 5,000 in his celebrity lounge but that doesn't count.

But your average league gate has been below ours 54 times in the last 60yrs!

Very desperate when you have to go back to individual games back in 1936 though eh!

When the two clubs are in the same division, there is little difference, but when comparing the stats in the top league Pompey have a 2,500 and more average attendance. 2,500+ per game is a wide margin and proves that Pompey are the bigger club.

Interesting to see 130 is asking for proof on this thread.

Look forward to seeing the proof that Pompey have been watched by, depending on your sources, between 1m-2.6m less people than Saints in our histories due to them owner falsifying attendances for 50 years like was claimed the other day.

Oh; there was 1987-88. Dammit.

But then Skates had just been promoted and still only managed an average crowd of 15,923 in their first season back in the top flight for decades. Hardly massive.....

You put in a reference the other day. An awful lot of info is on that page if you care to look.

For instance, on league games there is actully a 800,000 difference (minus your cheating figures as per Freedom of Information requests), and on FA cup games it is a small 70k difference over 100 years in total. Therefore on FA cup games, Pompey clearly have the higher averages as we have had fewer games. The big comparative difference in total gate is for the League Cup games where Pompey have always been shiiite, and have played less than half of the Soton total.

The owner was more interested in the Basketball team, hence the low crowds and the reason we were relegated.

Your club have been in a higher division for more seasons, been a better run club, had more England Internationals, been less corrupt, been cheating the attendance figures etc

But over a hundred years, there is very little between the two teams, despite the fact the Pompey owners have undoubtedly been taking money from the club for years.

It sounds like your club has more glory hunters than ours.

Can these unofficial attendances be proved?

It's a bit like your seasons of over 30k average attendances. I have proved that most of them are fake, but they still remain in the records books. Pompey have probably had had 10 30k seasons to your solitary season, but I can't prove it.

No changing the goalposts, we were on about P v S, and you can't prove that you had 100k at Wembley in 76, it was just a made up figure.

So we agree Little Pompey selling 40,000 tickets in 2019 is not a record figure
Saints sold 44,000, and had around 10,000 more easy

1976 Final attendance of 100,000 may/may not be a made up figure, but we can't prove either way.

Whereas 2008 Final you can easy see at least 126 empty seats (on 46 sec Kanu goal) in Club Wembley/Cardiff sections which only really covers less than 10% of capacity. Add the min 300 seats segregation, no way could attendance be more than 89,600.(generous)
So the official attendance of 89,974 is definitely a made up figure, your words

So we can agree 1976 now beats 1939 (It's in the Record books)your words

We can't prove it, but collectively most Pompey fans over a certain age just realise it's true having stood on the terrace and been at a match, and questioned the official attendance as they knew the attendance that day was much higher. It's not a big thing, Just ask any Pompey fan about this, it's just a basic fact. We knew that the attendances were being under counted.

We also knew that we had dodgy owners for decades, even your fans will admit this, just put 2 an 2 together.

What we can prove is that when the Police were asked about attendances at your club, the figures never included the Non attending STH's
