That guy at full back is hopeless under a high ball. I guess the ABs have worked that out.

I'm more interested in the carnage the WRU are trying to inflict on rugby in Wales.

Three regions one in Cardiff, one in East Wales one in West Wales.

The WRU will employ players directly for all regions and all coaching staff from the academies up to full internationals.

The WRU will decide who plays for which region and team selection and tactics.

Owners will be decided by tender and will get comercial and ticket sales. Take on the covid loans and pay it back to the WRU. When said loans are paid back 50% of the profit the region Owners make is paid to the WRU.

Will this improve Welsh rugby and the international team in the long term.

Somebody please tell me I have got this wrong. Who in their right mind is going to tender for this.

Their Wags could beat us
Where is Morgan Morse
Murray could be seriously injured
Tandy has a duty of care to his players

Carre could have a heart attack , as could the other fat lad at 4
3

Numbers 4 and 5 the least physical on the team

A hooker who can’t throw

No goal kicker of note

Always Right (Kev) called it right when suggesting rugby in Wales could be dead in ten years

Rather that support this facade called WRU , all internationals should be boycotted

I’d suggest the South Africa one ideal to start

Still, upside is no competition for football

Innit

I have
He’s not a kicker” of note” in the way of Ford, Barrett, Pollard ,Ramos or even Mckensie who will punish Welsh mistakes
Kickers who can win games with kicks from 50 metres like Thorburn , Jenkins etc

Those ones

They will know him well. I think he’s a Kiwi & played international rugby for their junior sides. He came here because his chances of playing senior rugby for the All Black seniors were minimal

You're totally right. Very worrying for Rugby especially in South West Wales.

You’ve got to laugh they want Cardiff (in the east), another team in the east and a team in the west. Just pathetic. Good to see the Dragons walk out of their meeting. It would be good if the others have some solidarity. It is clear the WRU plan is to divide & conquer.

I would just love it if we could have a team in the west outside of WRU jurisdiction entered into the English league. That would revolutionise rugby in Wales and improve the standard.

The WRU have the power to stop that though I thought can you imagine the legal web that, that could turn into, be another nail in the lid of Welsh rugby's coffin.

Attended an FAW/WWFA Strategy Engagement Event at the .com last night. The difference in attitude, ambition and inclusiveness between the Governing bodies of Football and Rugby Union in Wales is startling.

Its certainly worrying that for a city the size of Swansea the amount of youngsters playing sport , junior leagues in football for example under 16's there are only 6 teams who can field a side , at rugby there are even less at that age so the games which are plated tend to be sides outside the area and no league system. Swansea University are taking over a fair part of Ashleigh Road for their own ends and anyone of a certain age will remember the amount of games played there area Saturday, the Swans loss of supporters during the late 60's 70's and 80's help make the Senior League one of the biggest in the UK .
Rightly so the WRU are taking flak for their proposals and previous decisions but a big part in rugby and footballs decline is the lack of kids wanting to play sport.

The reason most u16 matches are played against teams from outside the area is because rugby in Wales is regionalised and all junior clubs feed into the regional system. Basically Ospreys, Scarlets, Cardiff Blues, Gwent Dragons and RGC. The junior teams affiliated to clubs play matches against other clubs, the better players then play for the area Swansea East, Swansea West, Swansea Valley and Neath and Bridgend (there are more feeder areas), these are for the Ospreys othe regions are exactly the same. In the Ospreys region clubs like Mumbles, Penlan, Morriston, Trebanos ect ect all feed through this system. Many with A and B teams through the age groups.

Swansea RFV has a place on the history books of which every Jack should feel proud
And by that , I mean Swansea folk

Losing first class cricket and rugby for a city of 250, 000 is criminal

Time was when folks followed both and we didn’t have this pitiful anti egg tw@ts piping up because they were forced to play it at school

Kevin M was dead right

We’re finished basically

Tomorrow will be one of the final nails followed by a Bokke burial

Participation in football in Wales at all levels and abilities is actually increasing. However it is recognised that there is some dropping off in the 13+ age groups, as you mention. The FAW/WWFA recognise this and are looking for ways to turn it around. That was discussed at last night's Event. It was a very positive meeting and the FAW intend reporting back on strategies by next March.

As far as areas such as Ashleigh Road are concerned. One very good suggestion made last night was that the FAW should take them over and turn them into community football hubs, using the income generated from permit fees etc to improve the facilities and playing surfaces. It seems that the current providers like Swansea City Council take the money but don't do anything to improve the facilities/pitches. Obviously this has huge financial implications, but finance is at the heart of it all.

You mention sporting hubs which in some way the council seem to be having that as an aim , I believe the idea is that Tirconl and Mynydd Newedd as centres where Senior and Junior league matches are played which allows them to employ on Saturdays a handful of staff instead of x amount putting up the nets and heating the water for the showers etc at each other singular park pitches. Penlan have now taken over 2 pitches at Mynydd Newedd and the Halfway which is now under the control of Bryn Awel , Talycopa Trawllyn & Waunarlwydd ,with the closure of Cwm Level & the Ashlands it seems to me that more and more pitches are being lost .
Underhill Park has recently become a community Hub with great facilities but had to close during the summer as the rateable value proved to be too expensive to keep open.
Its quite noticeable to see that there is not one 3,4,or 5 g pitches in the east of Swansea where grass roots football has the greatest amount of football teams .

Thanks , strangely enough I'm just off up Bonymean rugby Club to watch Swansea East play Swansea West school boys in a return fixture in which the west hammered the east by a huge margin so hopefully all the wrongs of that particular game will be rectified and a more even game played.

The son if at least one Welsh International should be playing if the earlier rounds are anything to go by. The east haven't won a game yet and the west have won twice.
