Millwall Away Day With a Twist 19:24 - Nov 28 with 1170 viewsHytheFerrytales

So the riddle is...How do you do an away day where you see Saints score every 3 minutes, Millwall win 2-0 and the 2 teams never occupy the same pitch ?This is how.

It's Boxing day 1969....Fixture List says Chelsea (a)...Me and lifelong mate Rick are on the case. Hythe Ferry, yomp to Central, train to Waterloo (they ran on Boxing Day back then).

Arrive Bridge looking for beers and pre game bantz..Becomes clear that a game is underway.
We squirm our way into the terrace via open gates (for early leavers)...locals confirm we are idiots as the match was an 11-30 k.o...a minute later Channon scores..2 minutes after that the final whistle blows.Sadly 3 goals had entered our onion bag earlier.

We leave to a torrent of abuse...nonces,farm animal molesters and brothel bred snot gobblers are the ones I remember.

Plan B...head to Cold Blow Lane for some God forsaken reason. Millwall beat QPR 2-0 in a game about as interesting as an award winning animated film from Moldova.

The highlight is when 'Arry Cripps intercepts QPR's flying winger and parks him 8 steps back on the terrace where he collides with a crush barrier and sustains what looks like life threatening head trauma.

Several rounds of Watney's Red Barrel chatting to some like minded lads in pub where we spread an urban myth that a few Millwall Dockyard mateys had decided the aforementioned winger met the criteria for one of their 5 a day and had eaten the poor bastard.

The riddle in para 1 is solved. Here's to a win tomorrow. Sadly neither me, 'Arry Cripps nor the winger will attend....

The Millwall fans give out flowers on the roads surrounding The Den. I am not sure why. Last time there, there were skin head Millwall fans giving out flowers. I never understood why.

It is a universally accepted fact that the vast majority of Millwall fans have a BMI higher than their IQ..

What do you call a Millwall fan in a suit, a clean white shirt and a blue silk tie?

The accused.
