Hopefully the arrest of Windsor will be the beginning of the end of the Royals. Remember his Mum and brother gave him the money to pay off one of his and Epsteins victims. And now it seems this pathetic man was using his position to pass on confidential information to criminals therefore undermining the very country that put him in such a privileged position.

But the Labour party who most would agree is a union of social democrats, democratic socialists and trade unionists would appear to not give a damn about Liberal values either.

Prescott called Blair 'Tory Blair' for a reason.

As Nick says neither left or right mainstream parties seem to give a damn about them.

I just disagree with this.

Look at Tony Benn. Pretty 'hard' left in his thinking but he was also about the exercise of power, how people are given it, how we get rid of them etc.

Anyone in power - i.e. Blair - is going to sometimes have the power go to their heads, but fundamentally what he did was held to account with the enquiry in the Iraq War etc.

We have independent judges, a free press, parliamentary scrutiny etc etc all trying to hold people to account. It's never perfect but it's there.

If you prefer monarchy to parliamentary democracy, good luck to you.

The idea that monarchy holds 'more accountability than our present system' is one that I think you will have to work hard to justify.

I think you struggle to see the wood for the trees.

Think you are being obtuse here Ian. I didn't say I would prefer monarchy to democracy, I don't like either option but a monarchy has the advantage of being more visible, more accountable where as now we have a uniparty that blames it each other while being controlled by billionaires in the shadows.

Not difficult to justify this rationale at all - execution of Charles 1st being a prime example.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

I quoted exactly what you said.

And as for a monarchy being more visible. You mean like Andrew's behaviour that is only now, years after the event, being revealed under the scrutiny of the courts and, particularly, the US Congress?

What utter tosh.

I will leave you to your democracy love affair as I can see you are emotionally heavily invested in this, which would be sweet, but I know how this ends - at some point you will realise that you have been in an abusive relationship, that the system you love is an active conspirator against your wealth, your freedom and the quality of the remaining years of your life and that of your family. So enjoy that warm fuzzy feeling whilst you can Ian.

Here you go Jelly, a list of the remaining absolutely monarchies in the world...

Brunei
Eswatini
Oman
Saudi Arabia
Vatican City
United Arab Emirates

Which one do you think you would favour?

Or if you prefer an autocracy with a more modern twist; how about:

North Korea
Eritrea
Afghanistan

Any of these tempting for you?

Or are you simply waiting for the kingdom of heaven?

What sanctions have been made upon Blair? He's a free man, how has he been held to account?

Fascinating that Lord Hutton is called Judge Whitewash. Also amazing that we have had 10 Enquiries into the grooming gans, with some blaming the children, and the 2020 one even being called a Whitewash

Starmer did well as the head of the CPP. How did he not investigate Savile

A free press where they can talk about what they want, as long as they don't mention people covered by D Notices, or people covered by Super Injunctions?

Poll: Is Southampton FC a big club. Where do they rank?

The two countries I have the biggest problem with, in that there actions are the most evil are both considered democracies and yet they carry out genocide with the full support of the rest of the democratic West and enact regime changes wherever they see fit. Both are fully implicated in the Horrific Epstein file dump.

Then there are other democratic countries like our own seeking to pass bills to lift all restrictions to kill the most vulnerable sections of society via euthanasia and abortion.

What will it actually take for you to accept that the democracy that we have is a cover for oligarchs to subjugate and immiserate us while they abuse our children and get richer and cull the peasant herd.

It's not the 1970s anymore Ian, there really is no excuse for this level of naivety.
