Did Joe Shields last longer than Liz Truss. ?Now the dust has settled Joe Shields I would question why Chelsea needed/wanted him.
Apparently his role will be recruitment & development of new young talent.
Look at the talent Chelsea have produced in the last few years.

Armando Broga
Tino Livramento
Connor Gallagher
Billy Gilbert
To name just a few.
Probably more talent than Man City or any other club have produced & all achieved before they poached Joe Shields from Saints why would they need him.
