WS may be forced to play AA as a 9 due to the lack of alternatives, but that means he loses all his effectiveness. He scores goals by running on to the ball in wide positions, not as a 9 where he often has his back to goal. It also means the team becomes even more one dimensional. In his ENTIRE CAREER he has scored just 1 headed goal. Not what you really want from a no. 9. | | | |

I'm not sure that the word 'best' is really applicable to our squad. They are much of a muchness, which is why successive managers have struggled to ever find a 'best' starting XI.
OK, let's start.... Best available goalkeeper, centre forward etc.
