What a bizarre and easy way to make a living. You train with the first team and have a kick about. Then you and the 2 first choice keepers together with an up and coming U21 keeper practice shot stopping, crosses etc… So basically the club are paying for your fitness. How nice is that. Suddenly the No 1 goalie gets injured. No 2 comes in and maybe you’ll be on the bench. It doesn’t last long though as they sign an emergency 40 year old who has experience in the league. So you’re back getting paid for keeping yourself fit. I don’t have a clue how much they get paid but I guess around 5 to 10 grand a week depending on who you’re “playing” for In another life I’d like to be a 3rd choice goalkeeper 😬
