You forgot to include a very important substitute !!

Where is teenage scoring sensation 'score on my debut' Dom Ballard ?

Despite their previous cup giant killings, Cambridge offered little threat and once we were ahead, the result was pretty much a formality.

Che had the ball in the net before his 1st goal, but it was ruled out for an alleged hand ball. A great ball from Payne on the right was bundled in from close range and we didn't look back. Adams could have perhaps had a 1st half hat trick but dragged 1 shot wide and others were saved and blocked.

It was almost like every player was desperate to score and because of this, they perhaps didn't stick to their game plan, shooting when they should have passed and vice versa.

Adams got our 2nd, also from close range, following up a long range shot that was only parried.

Once the subs came on, we lost our shape a little, but we still created lots of chances, especially from the flanks and eventually 1 paid off. After a long clearance from AMcC, Valery pulled the ball back and it fell to Ballard. His first shot was well saved, but he lifted the rebound into the roof of the net from close range and ran off to celebrate in front of a sold out Saints end of 1,500 fans. He certainly got the biggest and longest cheer - a youngster scoring on his debut !! :-)

A good, happy atmosphere with lots of singing. Just a shame they decided to close half the roads on the way home (M25 x multiple areas and A1M Southbound for 1 Jnct).

Good solid performance nice to see a couple of youngsters grabbing their chance but feel that Diallo didn't?
Perhaps the fact that Stephens, Walcott and Redmond were missing is telling in itself and pleased to here Ralph question why he would consider selling Che!
Good result now lets concentrate on Utd!!
