 | Forum Thread | What a shock, Burnley sack the manager a week before they play QPR at 22:58 24 Oct 2026
I was talking to a QPR fan on the tube home today and told her I hope they don't sack him before our game. We had a great result and should enjoy this moment, but is there any chance of Charity Park Rangers playing Burnley on November 3rd, or will the new manager bounce not be as effective this season as it was, when Southampton and Norwich both won with their new managers a year ago. |

Mine too. I did wonder why the song was being played. |
 | Forum Reply | Paul Smyth up top at 22:43 24 Oct 2026
Smyth was immense today. As a winger on either side, or No.10 like today, he always gives 100% and is valued highly by many fans. Glad to see Stephan getting the best out of Smyth, what a shame the Northern Ireland manager doesn't. |
 | Forum Reply | Kone at 22:36 24 Oct 2026
I concur. Kone was good last season and it was clear to most fans that he wasn't match fit in August and just needed time to do so. He put in an excellent centre forward display today, winning headers, holding the ball up and most importantly, getting in and around the 6 yard box to get on the end of crosses. He was brilliantly supported by Smyth. |

I too was dreading him coming into the team on that opening day against Portsmouth, but he put in a solid display and he had continued his fine form and even improved as his performance today showed. Well done to him and a new contract should be discussed with him in the near future. As for an Australian cap, I think this is also on the way. Finally an Australian player is coming good at QPR. |

That is a big blow for Mbengue and QPR. As soon as I saw the replay of him go down I thought it was his ACL. One option is Adamson another is moving Cirkin there or even Dunne. I think Cirkin, Boy Kemper or even both can cover at CB if Dunne is moved. |

Ian Muir 2 games 2 goals and then released by Venables in 1983. He went on to score over a 100 goals for Tranmere. Dougie Freedman. No games and released to go on and score loads for Crystal Palace, Forest and Barnet amongst other clubs. Brian Murphy goalkeeper 2 games. |

I think he is correct on a few issues. If Kemper scored the result might have been different and also the league table is so tight positions at this stage don’t mean too much. Maybe having better options as strikers would have helped. |

Obikwu was on the bench , but not used . This suggests to me, that he is either not fit or not considered good enough. Maybe just a very poor signing by the club if the latter. As has been suggested, maybe put one if the Development Squad strikers on the bench as they have done with Scarlett. They might not be good enough but a better option than putting on an unfit Kone and risking long term damage to his knee. It may be necessary for QPR to try and bring in another striker in January if the finances can be found. On a side note, the QPR injury list is not looking too promising for the season and may not be much better than previous campaigns. Burrell Chair Lamptey Mbengue Madsen Kone Dembele Obikwu??? That’s a big chunk (1/3 ) out of the squad. I know there are other clubs with similar number of injured players, but there are others that haven’t anywhere near the same. Is it luck or better medical or fitness personnel. |

He took the shot as most forwards would have done. |

I would like to see Man City expelled from the Premier League and also not accepted in the Championship or even the EFL. As for signing Charles , I would like that, but it isn’t going to happen as long as QPR doubt win promotion. Let’s just be grateful that we have him on loan and hope he isn’t recalled in January ( as Wells was a few seasons ago). |
 | Forum Reply | Bowen's tackle before the goal - good tackle or should have been called? at 11:17 12 Oct 2026
The question I ask is was it much different to Cirkin’s challenge where he played the ball first but caught the Preston player with the follow through Cirkin’s red should have been a yellow imo. I agree it was a full bloodied challenge from Bowen but it could have been given as a free kick on an other occasion. As for Vale, he is too weak in his challenges and very often doesn’t provide much for the team. He would probably not be in the team if Chair or Burrell were fit to play. |

This is partly the reason why social housing is needed, if only to stop private landlords and developers from increasing rents to unaffordable levels. And yes, if indigenous populations had 2 or 3 children then they could reduce the need for mass migration. However,I do understand why a lot of immigrants enter European countries. They are often escaping poverty, war or the effects of climate change such as extreme heat, famine and severe weather outcomes like floods, hurricanes, tornadoes forest fires. Developed countries can help make these countries safer and help with farming and rebuilding which in the long term can be cheaper than dealing with over population problems. Is Clive Allen very underrated by QPR fans because he is a Spurs fan and left QPR after Venables went to Barcelona in 1984? His goals per game record for QPR is 73 in 138. He was always one of my favourite players. |

Absolutely finished if the only other options are Lloyd, Smyth and the myth known as Obikwu. Even a half fit and disinterested Kolli is more likely to score against West Ham than the above leading the line on Friday. Mavropanos won't have much to do defensively it seems. |

Not sure why they recalled Kamara but let Smyth stay with the Northern Ireland squad where he spent to 4 games sat on the bench. At least Kamara played in a couple of Finland's games. |

Too true. It seems some people just like to knock players for no particular reason. Next one will be he has scored goals playing against poor teams. Kane has bee absolutely brilliant for club and country. He will score over 100 goals for England which will be more than Rooney and Charlton combined. If he stays fit and continues to score goals, I think Kane will top 150 caps and play in the next World Cup, it's not as if good young goalscorers are queuing up to replace him. |

He never made it at QPR as they cashed in on him before he could get poached away for peanuts. In pre season I would have talked to him about returning on a much reduced salary, but it didn’t happen, and then he went and messed up with driving offences. |

But the powers st be don’t want him. Other than Kolli QPR have failed in the forward department. |
