This just smacks of , “They deserved it so they should get it.” One of the early complaints about VARwas that it was too accurate and took too long to make a decision. Nobody is saying that the VAR official cannot make a mistake, and there have been cases where it was provable that they did. No such evidence has been presented in this case, other than “a boot is not the body” ( what cobblers), and most of his body was level. ( so what, some of it was offside). The emotive “toenail” was raised by a disappointed manager of the losing side. It did not take long by modern game standards. I thought Coventry were the better side by far, but they didn’t take their chances, and were unlucky at the end. That is the way it goes. [Post edited 23 Apr 18:27]

Offside is offside. The VAR check would have been made in any event no matter what clubs were involved. Nothing to do with the FA, PL, referees union or anything else. Offside is offside, and it is one of the things that VAR CAN be relied to get right. Everything else would be waffle or bias. Tough on Coventry though. |

I have just had a reminder from Faceache, 4 years ago, at the beginning of Covid, the club was calling all over 65s to make sure they were OK. I can’t imagine that happening now. Not after the way they ignored the recent passing of a significant player for the club. |

I would add that yet again, we bend over and give the opposition free rein for 30 mins or so. You are going to get shafted if you do that, and the late winner was fortuitous. |

Possession seems to be and end in itself. |

Moyes simply has a squad where he can pick players in better form. At Southampton, apart from his early years, JWP was never subject to that pressure. Look at the rest of the WH squad and figure how many have played every game when not injured. Simples. [Post edited 7 Apr 12:52]

Firkin L. As usual, we have 60% possession, but that is not domination . Especially when for the other 40% we look like conceding every time the opposition runs at us. This team are masquerading and will never survive in the PL. But I am beginning to think that is not what the ambition is any more. |

The teams that were relegated with us are showing themselves to be a cut above, despite losing good players, as we did. Ipswich have just been promoted from League 1. Sunderland have been anything but a big club for the past decade, and don’t look like anything special now either. I am pleased for you that you can feel good about where we sit as a club, but for me, we look like a bunch of poseurs from top to bottom. |

Good to hear. Fora while, I thought that you were veering into the treatment room along with those that believe that this season represents where the club should be. |

My son used to work in a Planning Dept in Berkshire. They routinely got people ringing in with complaints about “odd” behaviour. He was contemplating setting up a FB page, Glory Holes in Berkshire, for a laugh, but decided he didn’t want to be adjudged as complicit. |

‘There are extenuating circunstances’. Yep, you knew you were breaking the rules, but carried on anyway, then put profit before compliance. If you don’t like the rules, ferk right off. No sympathy from me. |

He has done wonders with what had become The Harry Kane Show. There is no magic, just good management under constant pressure. He makes it look like it shouldn’t be taken too seriously, which can only be a good thing. |

I agree Nick, he is not “ clinical”, but he gets the job done overall. He has thrived on being the main man and captain. It is a shame that the two other players mentioned are not our players, and on PL performances are seemingly unwanted by their clubs. |
