Ross Stewart - Sports Republic mess up again
at 10:32 8 Jun 2026

Yes I'm sure it's now going to be more expensive to sign him as he will presumably want an improved signing on fee and the contract will now probably need to be longer than a year. Which means we are again gambling on him staying fit.

Having said that, there is of course the current risk for him that he seriously injures himself at the world cup and is out of contract.

If he stays fit, his goal scoring record when he plays will make him an attractive option for a lot of clubs.

Ross Stewart - Sports Republic mess up again
at 09:47 8 Jun 2026

It just looks like someone at Sports Republic just forgot to exercise the additional one year option within the time allowed in the contract. I accept there were a few things happening at the end of the season but player contracts are just an ongoing issue for any club.

Given his recent improved health and the key goals he scored throughout the season, how was this missed?

Sports Republic really don't help themselves.

People should read what the trial judge had to say on the situation that police faced that night. Tragic mistakes were clearly made but just mistakes in dealing with a rapidly evolving incident rather than 'woke' policing.

The judge said:

'Another consequence of those lies is that the attending police officers honestly believed that there were reasonable grounds for suspecting Henry had committed an offence and arrested him with the consequence he was handcuffed for about a minute before his condition further deteriorated and the arresting officer began CPR.

The police were given a convincing but wholly false narrative of the incident. It was dark and Henry was wearing a dark top. The entry damage caused by the knife through it, would not have been obvious. Whilst there was visible blood on Henry, it would not have clearly been seen coming from that wound and the clearly visible facial wound was not life threatening.

Henry was complaining that he had been stabbed and was struggling to breathe but that would not have necessarily told the officers how serious the situation had become.

It is the experience of the criminal courts that sometimes, someone arrested and handcuffed will feign injury in the hope they may be released. These police officers were faced with having to make quick decisions in pressurised circumstances about the best way to act. The genuine shock to the particular police officer, when he realised that he had been giving CPR to Henry when he had a serious chest wound tends to show that he was doing his best in a very difficult situation.'

Honestly I didn't think I could ever feel more embarrassed by this club than last season. Club need to be honest with the fans as to how this has happened and the consequences for those responsible.

Scienza constant poor choices.

More positively Wood and Peretz have been outstanding.

So that's probably 3 regulars with PL experience out on Saturday Downes, Stephens and Manning.

Thank god for Tonda's rotation strategy.

Never fail to be interested in his opinions on football but anything else I have no interest. With some of his stuff not sure if it's coming from an overly superstitious footballer or, just a grifter, so I just ignore.

2nd was always a long shot. Stayed unbeaten and came from behind twice.

Woy is a top manager, I hope Tonda soaks up some advice from him

5 Things About The Blackburn Game
at 12:21 16 Apr 2026

It's probably a different fan base - the season ticket holders are probably in the main a bit more weathered in having seen it all before. The Arsenal game went to a general sale so the 'event' fans turned up ready to have a 'big' night out.

The home West Brom Semi Final in the playoffs was similar - completely different from a normal West Brom game in the regular season.

It would take a lot of effort for a club the size of Saints with relative little history of success in football competitions to convert big event fans into regular season ticket holders. The best place to start would be an organised effort to get the Northam wall more rowdy. Build from there.

FA Cup ticket website not working?
at 12:13 16 Apr 2026

From my experience in the past it's definitely far easier and more stable to use a pc or laptop than a phone to book wembley tickets.

I just went on there and selected some tickets, went through the booking procedure with no problems. It's just volume of people on there that causes a lot of the issues. Quite often people will select seats and then change their minds so seats often pop on and off.

There still seem to be a lot of tickets available and I'm sure more will be released.

Having sat in the top deck before, because if the design the view is great, although a bit unnerving if you don't like heights and sit in the first row.
