You make it sound like the Alamo after we scored and it was hardly that. Yes, our defenders made a few vital blocks but we had our moments too - Adam Armstrong had a great chance well saved by their keeper and Mara should have done better when in a good situation. We rode our luck at times but every team does. |

We wouldn't feel so great if he pitches up at Leeds and they beat us next week. Don't think there's any chance Leeds would employ him though. |

It looks like a done deal for Nathan Jones so not really much point to this question now. I feel we could do better but we have to give Jones a chance to show what he's about. His honeymoon period will not be a long one if I'm any judge of the current mood. |

I wish him well but this should have been done long ago. Hopefully the club will get the new appointment right and we can move on although it remains to be seen whether too much damage has already been done to save this season. It will take a good man to turn this around and come out with us still in the Premier League. |

Newcastle weren't all that but, unfortunately, they didn't need to be to hammer us. Pretty much every shot they had on target went in and I'm starting to lose all confidence in Bazunu. He seems to have a big weakness in getting down quickly enough to low shots. I don't rate McCarthy but I think he needs to start against Liverpool. Ralph picked yet another one of his weird starting line-ups. Is he now at the stage where he'll try just about anything in the forlorn hope that something works. He needs to be gone and we have to spend the world cup break with a concerted effort to improve fitness levels because I don't believe we are running anything like as far as our opponents and I'm sure JWP's levels have dropped off. We need a new manager to work on shape and systems and get us drilled. Right now we show no cohesion and the players look as though they have no clue whare they should be and what they are meant to be doing. It's all a mess and SD have allowed it to fester for far too long. |

Whilst we have the likes of Semmens running this football club and Ralph managing it we are only going to continue on a downward spiral. Semmens spouted stuff at the fans forum which was just plain bonkers. Ralph continues to demonstrate that, if there was a book called Football Tactics for Dummies he should be reading it rather than his tired playbook. The first half today showed that he has no clue how to set a team up to be fast out of the blocks, transition forward at speed, pass and move, play between the lines and generally give the opposition manager and players something to think about. He's burned by the two 9-0 defeats and other heavy losses to the extent that he sends teams out to defend their goal even if it means barely playing a forward pass or getting into the opposition penalty area. He is sucking the life out of the side and making them a hard watch for even his own most diehard fans. Enough is enough. |

JWP on Zaha really worries me and I accept he's done a job on him in the past. I just hope Ralph doesn't go with it tomorrow. Not sure we've got anyone capable of man marking him so perhaps doubling up on him at all times is the way to go. He's a dangerous cookie when on his game so, however Ralph decides to go about it, we have to limit his influence on the game - easier said than done. |

I agree we have been a little too passive and soft at times and there is a need for a bit of shithouse football. However, let's mix this up with some good, attacking play as I'm sure most of us like to be entertained by our own team. Fast, crisp passing (forward preferably), playing between the lines and plenty of movement off the ball is what I'd like to see. |

Not expecting much from Newcastle at home. Think they'll have too much for us. Would be happy with a point as per Arsenal but we do need to start winning more home games once the easier fixtures come along. |

That bit about the other coaches strikes me as very weird. Why would Ralph run a training session during which he not only doesn't speak with his other coaches but he doesn't even stand with them? This smacks of him doing everything his way and ignoring coaches appointed by SR. The bloke comes across as an autocrat. |
