| News Comment | Southampton At Arsenal The Verdict at 11:05:25
Wasn't at this one so will refrain from comment, but will all being well be at Selhurst Park all being well but am not looking forward to it. Ayew hasn't scored in an age and next up....Saints in town - the rest we can predict. Brentford is massive and we really do need to pick up three points but unless we are 3-0 up at halftime it will be same old story as we don't turn up second half. I know i will get slated for this but i really see no point in sacking Ralph as i question the outcome at the end of the season. That said, for me it's time to get out of this league as it is meant to be a 'competition' but the only competition is nowadays, how many goals we will get spanked by. |
| News Comment | Big Decision For Harrison Reed If Fulham Excersise Option To Sign at 12:06:13
Sadly i think its time for the club to try and get a bit of cash for him (if that is at all possible in the current climate) and for Harry to move on. Some might say this could be daft with Hjoj set to go possibly, but i think we need to be looking for some new blood. I like the player, bit as this piece has noted, managers since Koeman haven't fancied him for whatever reason (not that this was any endorsement / vice versa). We really need cash in order to try and find a semi reasonable CB. |
| News Comment | On This Day In History - 10th May 1998 White Hart Lane at 12:18:03
Have to admit that my liking for Dave Jones diminished somewhat when he dropped a perfectly able goalkeeper for one that could not kick a ball (and keep it this side of the stratosphere), could not command his defence and was attrocious at getting off his line. Credit where due though, Jonesie was fantastic at shop stopping. Dave Jones seemed to bring in a raft of 'old timers' mainly from memory including Howells, Hurst, Palmer etc. Whilst i was no fan of Carlton, that first season he did surprise me massively and did well. Thereafter i think we saw more of what i had expected. Am i right in thinking Bridgey might have got his debut under Dave Jones, or was it Hod afterwards? Have to thank Rupert for doing the right thing and putting DJ on gardening leave. Whilst the press gave the club and Rupes stick, we did everything we could for the guy imho. |
| News Comment | Saints Target For Second Half Of The Season Is Realistic And Achievable. at 11:07:07
Is the recent uplift in results a good or bad thing? Don't get me wrong staying up is pivotal to our future, but will the club take a punt and now try to hold out until summer to bring a centre half in? Decent players are hard enough to find let alone decent centre backs, but at a premium in January also when we are skint will Gao want to spend any funds we might have when relegation remains a huge possibility? |
| News Comment | Red Bull Salzburg Are The New Southampton ! at 16:56:06
Dirk...... But when Paul Mitchell departed surely we seemlessly replaced him as the 'Southampton Way' meant we had replacements lined up and ready to go? Was that not what we were told.....we always knew who our next managers and staff etc. would be well in advance? Remember when we were studying stuff like what matresses our softies would have to sleep in on the road so we could replicate it at the training ground etc?!? |
| News Comment | The Itchen North Is Arising at 09:45:05
I am hoping for a below 25k turn out tomorrow as the extra revenue from gate recepits is peanuts anyway (in the grand scheme of things), and the ones that do go are in the main a more positive bunch even though they know things are not great. Get behind the team during the 90 minutes, and then drip afterwards if needs be but our support during actusl play is vital in us surviving. That said, i am easy and couldnt care less if we stay up or not as one day under this current mob we will be down unless some loon with plenty of wonga buys the laundry man out. |
| News Comment | Saints Need To Keep Faith With Che Adams at 13:15:18
Provided Ings continues to stsy fit and bang in the goals then why place any pressure on Adams anyway. Its if Ings gets injured that tge pressure will mount on players like Adams and Obafemi. Are people already writing Adams off then?!? |
| News Comment | Saints Fans Were Magnificent ! at 20:30:54
Must admit with work, train strikes and stress levels at present i really struggled to muster enthusiasm before the game yesterday, but boy was i glad i made the effort and simply didnt take the easy way out and head home from work. The support was spot on last night and before certain factions could start to get on the teams back, i think others sensed this to get the support going, and loudly. We can do it, just a shame our song repetoire is shite although some tried to get the new Ingsy ditty going. |
| News Comment | Saints Home Shirt Sale Date Finally Announced at 10:18:06
Who the fcuk is gonna rush out and buy that debacle of a shirt anyway. Personally overweight geezers wearing the crap tight designs nowadays should not be seen in replica clothing. Still at least if the logo does come off in the wash it would make it one or two percent more appealing. Under Armour really know how to design a s**t kit. |
