A nice 2-0 win for you last night

I saw a comfortable 3-0 win and had no idea we were under the cosh for the first 20 mins. Also got stopped strolling down Goldsmith Avenue by police who thought we were Pompey fans following the Saints fans. All in all, a good night and didn't feel the intimidation that was promised. The late arrival of the train, the weather, not being a horse, the mauling on the pitch and the police operation afterwards probably helped.

80s Saints Question
at 12:34 2 Jul 2019

Had a conversation at work last night about Saints managers. When Lawrie left in 85, was Chris Nicholl the overwhelming favourite or a left field appointment? Can anyone remember any other names that were banded about? I suggested John Bond as he was often linked with us, but can't remember what with being only 11 and being more concerned as to whether McMenemy leaving may stop us winning the league

Fan missing in Madrid
at 13:51 3 Jun 2019

Had been following this story on the Twitter. A Liverpool fan had gone missing in the celebrations and seeing how desperate his family were.

Turns out he was just pissed and had lashed out at Spanish dibble

For anyone that has perhaps fallen out of love with football a bit over the last few years, the scenes at Elland Rd today should help rekindle your enthusiasm. Top level shithousery. Brilliant.

Saw from a mutual friend on FB that 26 Mins of Bliss, who used to try to terrorise this message board (and let's face it, fail miserably) sadly passed away a month or so ago. I know he tried to cause controversy on here, but he was so bad at it that I thought he was quite funny.

Has anyone heard the Steve Williams interview podcast by Mark Sanderson? Very interesting and he is quite forthright with his opinions. Talks about the Everton semi final and whether he should have played, Frank Worthington, Alan Ball and Ian Branfoot.

Hi Pat, I don't know if the River Wensum flows near you (can't be far away), but there was some great scenery from your beautiful county on the brilliant Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on BBC this week. Very funny programme as well

United We Stand Podcast
at 12:13 24 Sep 2017

Just listened to the United fans podcast from their monkey bus trip down yesterday. Seem a decent set of lads who follow United everywhere (the longer the coach trip from Manchester, the better). Some quotes from them:

Can't remember United being battered as much as that in a long time

The better team lost

Saints were on top as much on the second half as they were for 40 mins of the League Cup Final

Lot of time for Southampton, they are a good footballing side

Any team that give their fans clackers should be placed in to Administration immediately

Got to agree with all of that

Can't remember, was one of Clyne's reasons for leaving us an ambition to play Champions league? Shame if so as he has been left out Liverpool's CL squad. He seems to be a bit of a forgotten figure for some reason

And the Tories amongst you have had a period of gloating, what are the chances of getting some of the humour back here that used to be present? Would make a welcome change from the snide comments and endless circles of the same debates

Fwiw, I am a remainer, will be voting tactically for Lib dem but do have doubts about Labour and think Puel should probably go but do feel sorry for him as well. Won't be discussing it anymore (maybe Puel)

Liverpool Podcast
at 15:53 9 May 2017

Listened to the Anfield Wrap earlier as saw they were discussing the Saints match and wondered what they thought. They weren't particularly impressed with their own performance and got the impression that they wanted to criticise Klopp but didn't want to be heard/seen doing so.

Anyway, they complimented Saints on our top level shithousery efforts and wished they could do the same, particularly in European aways when they are you against it. They said that Forster, Gabbiadini, JWP and Cedric all a good job in winding players and slowing play down.

Glad to hear this and don't want us being nice. We should have surrounded the linesman at Wembley and got the ref to talk to him for example.

The abuse that John Terry received whilst warming up last night from Saints fans was pathetic. The same old tired cliched nonsense concerning Wayne Bridge and racism. Pathetic.

Absolutely nothing about his mum being a thief and shagging half of Liverpool
