Saints Target Hands In Transfer Request Wednesday, 22nd Apr 2015 13:33 One of Saints rumoured transfer targets for the summer window is being reported as having handed in a transfer request at his current club. Feyenoord's Tonny Vilhena has been linked with Saints since last summer and the rumours increased after he fell out of favour with Ronald Koeman's replacement in the hot seat at De Kuip and since November he has started only one league game for the club. He was linked with Saints again in the transfer window although that did not happen with some sources saying Saints did not offer enough. Feyenoord have offered him a new deal however he has called a halt to talks over the contract and Dutch media sources are reporting that he has handed in a written transfer request to the Rotterdam club. Saints reportedly offered £5 million back in January and may get him for around that with only a year left on his current deal to the summer of 2016. Vilhena was reported to have travelled to England in February with the Dutch media saying he had meetings with an official of an English club understood to be Saints, it seems that the arrival of Vilhena at St Mary's could be a step closer with the player himself making it clear he sees no future at Feyenoord.
