Saints Can Beat Manchester City Next Week. Sunday, 17th May 2015 16:07 Manchester City did Saints a big favour down at Swansea City today by beating the Swans, however their display was far from convincing and gives Saints hope that they can win at the Etihad and perhaps achieve fifth place. First of all a big thanks to Manchester City for beating Swansea and thus assuring us of 7th place and a Europa league place if Arsenal beat Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final. But thats the pleasantries over and now we have to concentrate on the task ahead and that is playing for a possible fifth place finish. No one would have dared predict that this would be the scenario going into the final day and we have to do our bit by beating City and then hope that results at Goodison Park and The Brittannia Stadium go for us. But as daunting as a win at the Etihad sounds the City display at Swansea aligned with the fact that the win there should see them finish second even if Arsenal win both their remaining games gives Saints hope that they can pull off a shock win. To be blunt City's defending was awful and the fact is that as we showed against Villa we have pace in the side that can trouble them, going forward thought City are a different proposition, they can pass though sides and as much as Swansea were unlucky not to get something out of the game they were also lucky that City didnt hit seven though their intricate passing. But if we can keep it tight at the back then we could catch them napping at the back and add to that their heads already seem to be in another place with the summer looming, we might just do something. But whatever happens up in Manchester this has been one of our bestever seasons in terms of league finishes and although the last few weeks have seen us a little disappointed as we fell away a little, Saturday's great win has restored a little of the excitement and the feeling is now back to more of accomplishment than it was a week ago.
