According to several reports in the media Saints are about to come face to face with Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The Express and other media sources are reporting that Saints and Liverpool are about to compete with each other for Napoli's Brazilian starlet Jorginho.

The 23 year old first came to prominence in 2012/13 with Hellas Verona and helped them to promotion to Serie A,.

The following season he scored 7 goals in 18 games in the first half of the season as Verona were the shock side of the season in that they were a comfortable mid table side rather than the relegation fodder they hd expected to have been.

This lead to Napoli signing him in January 2014, he was expected to set the World alight, initially he did well helping Napoli to the Italian Cup Final in which he played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over Fiorentina.

But last season he played only 13 times and this season has only started 3 League games and turning 24 in December he is at a crossroads in his career having not yet made the jump from promising to being the real deal.

The Express are citing Gazzetta Dello Sport in Italy as claiming that Liverpool and Southampton have already made "approaches" to Napoli who are bellieved to value the player at somewhere between 15-22 million euros.

That seems a lot to pay for a player who has not yet made his mark in the game and I would be surprised if we wanted to do business for him at that size of fee.

IWOZTHERE added 11:09 - Oct 11 I s'pose it would make more sense than Vilhena as he's primarily a defensive midfielder I understand. The 'rags' seem to be ratcheting up the VW to spuds rumours coinciding with supposed contract talks...How surprising.

1970 added 11:33 - Oct 11 I cant see it myself, I know we have some contacts in Italy but like Coutinho, his agent will pretend Saints have offered money and Liverhampton will be straight in there, anyway rumour has it Coutinho wants out so maybe his replacement, I saw that spud reporter bloke dragging up Wanyama thing again, they are a joke may be we can make up are own rumour that Pochetino only has till xmas to save his job with Harry "I don't own a dog" Redknapp waiting in the wings, or may be we should just ignore these reports and support the mighty Saints coyr 3 points sat.
