Good interview. I hope we have the fight in our belly for this. I fancy Gabby to score (he must start surely) but can we see it out... It all comes down to our manager's lame in game management. Sigh.

Let´s try to be optimistic. I Know the stats for our season at Saint Mary´s, but there have been signs of improvement in our team lately - away from home, I know, but still. And Carrillo looks good, I think. The team has to come up with something new!! New tactics. Stoke will probably defend with many players behind the ball and try to counter attack. Maybe a 3-5 2 formation would work against such opposition? What has the team been practising from monday to friday??

A win in this game would give us a breathing space, and further cement Stoke's problems in the bottom 3. The stat. that showed we were the Prem's 6th highest shot-takers is tempered by the fact that we have converted only 10% of those chances, and hitting the woodwork ...14 times... isn't too encouraging either. However, we are looking a bit steadier - as a team. I'd like to see Josh Sims get more game time, but am not unduly worried in waiting for Carrillo's first goal. He has learned to "put himself about " a bit more now and has laid on 3 assists, and to be fair to him....suddenly coming to the Prem. in January from a place on the Monaco bench can't have been an easy move. When we eventually see Gabbiadini, Boufal and Tadic hit a bit of consistancy who knows what results might be? but I want to see is the end of "the Curse of Crouch" . Like Giroud - in his Arsenal Days - Crouchie has the habit of popping up too often with a goal to steal our points.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Southampton Polls |
