Hasenhuttl On Injury News For The Visit Of Chelsea
Friday, 4th Oct 2019 14:56

Ralph hasenhuttl has spoken to the press ahead of the game against Chelsea on Sunday about who will and who will not be available.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that Cedric will be out for the big game as he seeks to get his first home win of the season, most Saints supporters will be hoping that means that Yan Valery will be back in for his first start in five weeks in all competitions.

Moussa Djenepo is also likely to be still missing with his muscle/tendon problem.

Speaking about the fitness of the Portugese full-back to play on Sunday, the manager said:

“For sure not. He really tried to play against Tottenham, that maybe wasn’t the best idea, but he really wanted to help the team.

“He really tried to do it against Tottenham but after the warm-up the problem was too big. It’s a calf injury."

On Djenepo, he added:

"Moussa is very difficult to say when he can play again. It’s high risk at the moment. When you have an injury in a muscle that you need when you shoot the ball then you don’t know if it’s okay until you shoot.

"He can do everything, running and passing. Everything is possible. But when he shoots we must pay attention because a tendon injury is difficult. I would like to have him back as soon as possible."

The Austrian then went on to another type of injury, the one that Che Adams has, injured pride and damaged confidence after a goalless start to his Premier League career.

“Ché has played every game until the last game. And also played 90 minutes against Portsmouth.

“It was clear that I needed to give him a rest. Sometimes a break can help, even if you are like him, where he always wants to play.

“This week he’s in better condition and is clearer in the mind. He can be an option for Sunday, yes.

“It’s difficult as a striker if you have a good pre-season and then it comes to the league and you are unlucky. It’s important that you stay working and believe in yourself.

“In the moment also it’s important that we have other players who can score in the front too.”

The good news is that the injuries are not in positions that we have no cover, for Cedric the option is to bring in Yan Valery and Djenepo although a loss, Ralph has a plethora of attacking options including, Shane Long, Che Adams, Sofiane Boufal and Nathan Redmond all of whom could play in his place not to mention Michael Obafemi.

It just needs now for the square pegs to be played in the round holes.

Square pegs in round holes has been the problem not the solution

We are already looking like a desperate team short of quality options ... as much as I like SHANE Long he is not a premiership striker ... their is not a team or defender in the league that wouldn’t be nervous before a game if he knew are options were SHANE Long upfront ... chase a ball all day long but so would my dog if I threw a ball for him...as for Adams it was obvious he has never played premiership football before so in my book as much as I like his championship record he is and has been bought as a gamble ...
One that at the moment hasn’t paid off ...
please please Ralph .... wipe the slate clean and get a backbone of a team and stop gambaling ... your comments are sometimes like a desperate man dreaming his team were better than they are ...And their not ( it’s like wanting to date a beautiful sexy woman for years .. and when you get the chance she’s a complete bimbo that’s crap in bed )
Please sort out our squad and spend big in January my friend ...

My son has just sent me a team line up from about 3 Or 4 seasons ago now ...( obviously Les Reed must of had something to do with some of these but I can’t think what managers actually signed them .. )

ROMEO ...?

Wish we had a few players like that playing for us now ...
