Fao LondonLisa - Hilary Mantel. 21:58 - May 27 with 2564 views | Lohengrin | Right then, I didn’t forget, I had a brief chat with somebody from her publishers earlier and the third and final instalment of her Thomas Cromwell series is due for release in the first quarter of next year and will be titled ‘The Mirror and the Light. Sorry if you were expecting it earlier, don’t shoot the messenger!

Did you see the episode where Cindy Crawford traced her ancestry back to Elizabethan nobility and through them in direct line of descent to the discovery she was the forty something great granddaughter of Charlemagne? How’s that for hitting the jackpot!

Isn’t everyone with a white European heritage the direct descendant of Charlemagne? I think so, anyway.

Looking around on here you’d have to say no, Lis. Though if you were to insist I was I’d understand where you’re coming from...

Mind you, the two take away quotes from a quick reading of that are: ”This is big business nowadays, and some companies spin fabulous yarns about your forebears as marketing devices.” “Even though you are directly descended from Charlemagne, you may well carry none of his DNA.”

What an interesting thread. I have previously said on here that Wolf Hall is one of the very few TV series that I have repeatedly watched. The acting is absolutely superb particularly from Mark rylance, Claire foy and my absolute favourite Anton Lesser as Thomas Moore. There has certainly been a suggestion from the producers and Hilary Mantel that a new series could be forthcoming based on the new material, fingers crossed. BBC drama at its very best. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url= https://www.thirteen.org/programs/wolf-hall-masterpiece/masterpiece-wolf-hall-ep
