| New Covid Guidelines For Wales ? on 13:43 - Dec 1 by exhmrc1 | Your hatred of Drakeford holds no bounds. In your case he is the new Paul Ringer. Cases up in Spain. Mark Drakeford is to blame. The fact is that up to the last week the daily Welsh figures have been lower than England's. That has changed but we have yet to see the effect of England coming out of lockdown to be able to compare. There is absolutely no doubt that the figures went down because of lockdown here. Here are the Welsh figures to the end of October 1324 1104 1158 1207 1414 1375 1737 1301 Here are the figures from 7 November 958 744 931 444 928 867 797 933 However people continue to flout the rules. There was the case of a party in Swansea University and your friends in the licensed trade continue to ignore the rules. Old Havana were visited early on Beaujolais day and told they had too many people there and to take action. The police and trading standards went back later the same day and found it was still far too full. I suppose you blame Drakeford for that. The police and trading standards have previously visited your friends in Boss Brewery and ordered them to close and there have been too many places to individually mention. It might have escaped your attention that Wales isnt the only place in the UK taking this kind of action so are Scotland and England. |
England are coming out of lockdown to more restrictions than when they went in. We have done the opposite, and we now have more restrictions. I told you beaujolais day would be a disaster and that it was madness not to put more restrictions on students instead of less than the general population. I said it was madness closing non essential retail. I said the firebreak was too strict and too short. How can you justify Drakeford's handling of this being nothing but an absolute failure? We are the only country that had a firebreak and came out to a free for all.

Whatever Drakeford does you complain about. You complained about the stay local rule. It was proven right as the cases came down. The firebreak clearly worked. You have constantly supported pubs even though numerous ones have had to be closed for ignoring the rules. Students are no different to anyone else. They should be treated equally and punished when they have parties. The reality is the spike in cases isnt down to students. Swansea has sky high figures at the moment. Where are the high areas today Clydach and Mawr 42 cases 448 cases per 100,000 Birchgrove 42 cases 434 cases per 100,000 Llansamlet 33 cases 469.6 cases per 100,000 Bonymaen 34 cases 451.7 cases per 100,000 Loughor 41 cases 429.4 cases per 100,000 Compare these with areas where students tend to live Brynmill 33 cases 324 cases per 100,000 Uplands 31 cases 319.5 cases per 100,000 Sketty 21 cases 330.4 cases per 100,000 Townhill 14 cases 153.9 cases per 100,000 Central Swansea 38 cases 369.5 cases per 100,000 St Thomas 33 cases 399 cases per 100,000 Skewen and Jersey Marine 27 cases 247.3 cases per 100,000. The areas of Swansea with over 400 cases are all places where very few students live. The areas students live have lower rates all under 400,000 and the with a massive amount of rooms is under 250. This is also the case in Neath Port Talbot Pontardawe 53 cases 431.2 cases per 100,000 Cadoxton and Bryncoch 33 cases 486.3 cases per 100,000 Cimla 47 cases 920.1 cases per 100,000 Aberafan 43 cases 440.1 cases per 100,000 Cwmafan and Bryn 57 cases 726.8 cases per 100,000. This clearly shows that students are not the main cause but you still think they are the ones to be punished instead of blaming the many pubs in our area that have had to be closed for not following rules.

Unfortunately that is totally wrong. Many students were always going to get it in late September or early October. The nature of being a student was always going to cause that. Students came from areas with higher rates of the virus to lower areas. They live very closely to each other in confined spaces and it was going to spread. If you get it there is a very good chance whoever lives with you will also get it. Like you students share bathrooms and also kitchen. They live in Halls of Residence sometimes with 20 on a floor or large Houses of Multiple Occupancy where a virus will spread to larger numbers. However the figures locally havent been anywhere near the numbers in some English universities. A few hundred out of 23000 in Swansea University. Cardiff Metropolitan University claimed a couple of weeks ago only 7 of their students had been infected.

The programme on bbc2 re the last 1918 virus was revealing. Hurd immunity eventually weakened it. Apparently.

| New Covid Guidelines For Wales ? on 00:14 - Dec 1 by KeithHaynes | Our current state of alarm in Spain is - Socially distanced outside eating and dining until 6pm. Its getting a bit chilly mind. Curfew, 10pm until 7am. If you are caught its a bit expensive. Must wear masks everywhere. Unless you are eating or drinking. No travelling outside of your town / municipality Unless for work or essential medical appointments. If you are not sure then do it, then if you messed up, have a fine. No flexibility. The police here are very helpful, considerate and approachable, unless you shout at them, then its sort of a problem :-)

Similar to what Wales are doing. I bet everyone in Spain isn't moaning like this lot on here.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

| New Covid Guidelines For Wales ? on 01:09 - Dec 2 with 607 views | Slugster664 | It's bizarre that people want to devolve even more powers to this fecking useless lot, this pr1cks decision is costing me, personally, circa £3k...I understand a lot of his voters don't work due to supposedly being sick, lame or(probably)lazy, but some of us like to get out there and better ourselves financially. You Labour lefty lot should have been put in a bucket at birth, wasters! | |

According to the figures that is the case. They are generally not taking it as seriously as older groups possibly because at that age they are far less likely to be seriously affected. The figures for deaths seem to start with people in their 40s and increasing in each decade. Have a look at the chart of deaths on PHW deaths on the attached link. https://t.co/zpWRYSUbfh?amp=1

Scotland up to end October 4 under 50 without underlying condition. Not exactly lethal to most people.

How many people over the age of 50 do you think die of very mild and easily controlled diabetes?

What are classed as known underlying conditions. Diabetes Many people have it and are controlled with diet, drugs or injections. Not a problem. People live for years. My mother had it at 37 and died at 82. Asthma People have it from birth. Most are controlled by inhalers. People live full lives. They are not due to die in the next 3 months like you have stated. There are a whole list of conditions all of which usually dont affect people and certainly wont die early ranging from epilepsy to heart conditions to elevated blood pressure. Just because someone has got a condition doesnt mean they are about to die.
