| REFERENDUM 18:01 - Apr 16 with 4623 views | johnlangy | Don't worry people, don't worry. It's not about Brexit OR Independence you'll be glad to know. It's about the NHS. The NHS is on it's knees again and everyone's tearing their hair out trying to work out how to fix it. What's happened for decades now is the current government of whatever colour decides to go in a certain direction. Then they get voted out and the incoming government that has a very different perspective on how the NHS should be run changes what the previous lot did. Then they get voted out and, hey presto, change again. So, is the only way to fix it a Referendum. The British people vote for the way they want the NHS to be run. And the result is an actual legally binding one where successive Governments whether red or blue have to follow whatever the plan is or be in breach of the law. Hopefully Boris would be nowhere near this one I imagine coming up with a list of the potential 'plans' to be voted on would be horrendously difficult. But is that the only way it'll ever be fixed ? | | | | |
| REFERENDUM on 18:11 - Apr 16 with 3051 views | 73__73 | The NHS gets plenty of money. The staff do a good job, nevertheless the nhs has crossed the Rubicon and no restructuring or extra funding will help. What is needed is for the population to improve their own health, give up smoking, drugs, junk food etc, and exercise more etc. | |

You may as well ask people to stop breathing. Asking them to stop doing things they enjoy and/or do things they don't, yeah right. Lets see now, walk to the school or the shop because its only 5 minutes away....not going to happen. Give up things that harm their bodies, hang on while they have a ciggy and think about it. Eat better food, what and give up on takeaways, that means actual cooking, oh and washing up afterwards. Not going to happen.

It's nothing to do with big Pharma or big farmer and everything to do with people being lazy. All that post proves is you are lost in conspiracies! Are big pharma a rip off and making people ill, yes but there is still medicine being produced that people desperately need. Not everybody can just make themselves healthy by living a better life. A heart condition or epilepsy aren't cured by eating properly or getting more exercise and it's blatantly silly to say otherwise. Are there many people who could be healthier, obviously yes and it could save the NHS a large fortune but even that wouldn't be a cure all for the NHS problems because the government would just cut their funding. As long as we have greedy, self serving, venal politicians who support corporate greed then nothing will improve. It's them that should be the object of your criticisms.

You believe what you want to believe. Personally I think you are talking rubbish. I prefer to listen to people like Dr Robert lustig, Jason Fung and many more who actually know what they are talking about. Oh and you miss the point spectacularly. [Post edited 16 Apr 2022 20:02]

Do you think big pharma and farming could do what they do without government backing? No one way suits everybody because our bodies are all different. Of course sugar is bad for us and fasting can work for certain things but many people are medically predisposed to being overweight and neither of those 2 men propose anything that will cure epilepsy, MND, multiple sclerosis or will 100% prevent cancer. I can tell you why too. Illness is a part of nature, we will never be rid of it. We can lead better , healthier lives but it doesn't guarantee we never get ill. If I don't cover your point there then please point out what I'm missing so I can properly answer you.

So you don't want to make the point you say I missed? How do you propose to change my mind without debating it? Go on, make your case? How's this for a thought, cancers can be caused by pollution, you can live as healthy a life as possible but still get cancer because of external stimuli. How do fasting or cutting out sugar prevent pollution making you ill? Pollution can also cause lung diseases. How does your lifestyle prevent those, do you wear a mask everywhere? From memory, you refused to wear a mask during the pandemic. Would you wear one to protect your lungs from pollution?

Educate yourself. Maybe read some books by Thomas Seyfried. Listen to what Valter Longo has to say

Educate myself? how's this, https://sciencebasedmedicine.o Valter longo, https://medical-en.nneandersph It always comes down to what you want to believe. However, unless you are open to new ideas debate is pointless. You'll be telling me to read Mercola next.

So you cannot make a decent argument for what you believe in then? Fair enough. When the ketogenic diet doesn't save you from cancer, maybe then you'll think differently.

| REFERENDUM on 23:24 - Apr 16 with 2839 views | Flynnidine_Zidownes | There is one big flaw with the NHS. Explained here with an accurate historical transcript: Nye Bevan: “Orite butt I’ve had an absolutely banging idea like” Attlee: “Ah sounds spiffing dear chap, please convey the idea upon my person forthwith” Bevan: “It’s like an health service butt. Free for everyone. Cost nothing for any doctors work like isn’t it?. Any health problems you can get for nowt, you don’t have to spend a penny butt.” Attlee: “Your brain is clearly gargantuan. I shall implement it immediately.” Bevan: “just one other thing butt.” Attlee: “And what may that be you burly, rugged, sexual young Welshman?” Bevan: “eyes and teeth don’t count for some reason.” Attlee: “Done. Now do you want to come back to my place?” Scene fades to black. | | | |

I apparently read more than you because Seyfried was pushing the keto diet as a cure for cancer. He was roundly proved wrong though. I hope you never have to find out he's wrong but then you'd never know any better.
