| Any Bikers in the House? 23:02 - Mar 10 with 1263 views | max936 | I'm off work at moment and been watching Youtube vids when I've had a few spare moments and came across video's by Bennetts Bike Social called What Bike Next, whereby they have a biker looking for a bike and set up 3 choices for him to ride and assess, its very good, episode 4 showed a rider looking for a commuter bike for around 3k 1st bike up was Yamaha's FZS1000, what a bike for that money, I always wanted one, but never did opted for others instead, at 62 I decided my biking days were over, but on seeing these quality bikes available for little money, its very tempting. Any bikers on here ever owned one?? | | | | |
| Any Bikers in the House? on 00:10 - Mar 11 with 1223 views | Robbie | Had the Yamaha Fazer 600 for many years , great bike and never let me down . Now riding a Susuki GSF 650 Bandit , another machine I enjoy being on and reliable . Like yourself a commuter biker and , add a few years to the age issue from my side too . Bikers of the Blade , R1 , why ride at 170 mph and brag about it , I just want to get home safe after my round trip to Tenby . | | | |

I've had 4 blades loved them, last bike was a Tracer 900, what a bike, but it didn't get the use it should have had, so I think a FZS1000 would fit the bill for the price, took a Fazer 600 out from JT's Bridgend what a heap of crap, had to rev the guts out of it to get it to go, had a Hornet 600 yrs ago and that was the bollox for the fun and grin it give me brilliant bike, a new revamped version is about to come out and it is even better apparently, but a Fazer thou for around 3k is a bargain for that quality of bike and it won't matter if it only gets used very little. If I was seriously about getting right back into it, I'd go for another Tracer 9 or an MT10 , but 3k for a bike to use as and when then FZS thou is a no brainer. [Post edited 11 Mar 2023 0:44]

Pity about the Fazer ride for you , I liked mine . I am a fine weather rider though , the sun must be out before I venture out , the bike is in hibernation now , did not SORN it , in case of emergencies and my car failling apart . The Yamaha and Suzuki bikes I have been on have never let me down . There again I panic when I red line it and touch 80 mph , what a wimp I am .

I was thinking of getting a little twist and go scooter for the 3 mile commute My brother in law is a serious biker, he's 61 and he currently has 4, one is a Ducati 996, theres a big BMW 1200 (I think) tourer, he has a Yamaha something and a new bike arrived last week but I don't know what. The Ducati was brand new and he has since spent (he says) 14k on the Yamaha on ugrades, a few illegal I'm sure. I did seriously consider getting a notorbike for work, cheaper and easier in heavy traffic but it turned out I get picked up from home so don't use the car that much these days, I don't do 3k per year so not worth getting a bike too.
| Any Bikers in the House? on 08:24 - Mar 11 with 1170 views | GixerJack | I’ve had the same Suzuki GSXR1000 k4 John Reynolds replica for about 12 years but I don’t use it much anymore because it’s just too quick, I take it for MOT every year then it goes back in the garage, they really were fantastic bikes that still cut it against modern machines. Last year, when petrol prices went daft I bought a year old KTM Duke390 for my commute from Porth into Cardiff it doesn’t feel under powered because of the way it pulls from low speed and out of corners and the handling gives it a real fun factor. It’s a 100mph bike but in reality it runs out of puff at around 90-95 but that’s not what it’s about. They’re marketed as “the corner rocket” and that’s where it really comes to life and never fails to put a stupid grin on my face 😠| | | |

Sorry Roobie, my comments on the F6 was harsh, they are a nice bike visually and I'd always liked them and fancied one, so when I saw there was one for sale at JT's and for around 3k, I jumped at the chance to go and see it and ride it, just so disappointed when I did, I thought there was somin wrong with it, as you've really got to rev it to get it to go, when I did rev it, I found it noisy, my bike before it was a 2005 blade so that probably didn't help, even though even though the test ride on the F6 was a good 10yrs later. It ended well though cause I bought a Tracer 9 which I loved, but that was 4 grand more than the F6. "There again I panic when I red line it and touch 80 mph , what a wimp I am " We have much in common there Robbie, I rarely hit the ton mark even on the blades I've had, I've always chose bikes that I've found aesthetically pleasing, I love that new Agusta RR Brutale but at my age to spend 16k on a bike isn't gonna happen, MT10 is another one I like and I'm to big and old for one of todays Blade's which are tiny, there's a new Hornet out though and its lovely.

He doesn't do track days but he does love his bikes. Me, I always preferred the comfort and protection from the weather a car gives, I love my heaters

Have found my Bandit to be a lot more nippier and lighter than the Fazer to ride . Tried out a friends Kawasaki z 750 some time back , that was another great machine , Just having a quick spin on it , could feel the difference in acceleration compared to bikes I was used to being on , so quick off the mark .

Watched a couple of reviews on the new Hornet 750, lovely bike for 7k, but I'm not a lover of twin cylinder engines, this one is a parallel twin, so might be worth a test ride.
