The BBC and the MSM told us what to think, it was far easier that way.
Post war we were repeatedly told the Britain had ……. the best royal family in the world, the best football league in the world, best police forces in the world, best armed forces in the world, best democracy in the world, best public broadcaster in the world, best universities in the world, best inventors in the world, best language in the world, and other nations should be laughed at for being a bit different. History started around 1914.
And then, guess what … social media started to suggest that much of the above was not in fact true.
And many middle aged people hated being told the truth.
The old lies were so comfortable.
