David Brooks coming in. 18:36 - Jan 29 with 3034 viewsGRIM

Apparently we've got David Brooks on loan until the end of the season.
That is a brilliant signing, he is quality & deserves to be playing regularly.
It might take him a while to adjust to our possession style football & he might have to track back more than he's had to at Bournemouth but he is great on the ball & very creative.
Just hope it's true that we've got him.

And he has a left foot to provide an extra dimension whilst going forward.
Unfortunately he's Cup Tied

Undergoing a medical today. I reckon he'll be announced later tonight - assuming medical goes okay.

Hope you're right.
I would prefer to get David Brookes to Manuel Benson.
DB has plenty of Premier / International experience.
Benson has only ever proved to be effective in Championship.

On that basis what is the point in keeping Holgate he won even be on the bench? Might as well contribute some cash to set him somewhere else.

Everton don’t want him back so we’re stuck with him

Brooks appears to have the great skill of running with the ball at pace with the ball more or less tied to his boot, making him really hard to play against.

Looks a real class act.

Rarely in recent years have I been so excited watching a new player.

Enjoy him while we can, peeps.

Spot on Pat he’s going to be a great signing for us. As you say very fast and good control. I was very impressed with his debut.

Agreed

Also thought Rothwell looked more up to speed yesterday when he came on.

Refreshingly he looked quite direct yesterday - which was pleasing to see. Wanted the ball and had some good creative forward passes. Unlucky not to score with that curling effort. Brilliant nutmeg on their left back, who duly took him out and somehow avoided a yellow.

Shame he is cup tied, as it would have been good to give him a full game prior to the Huddersfield league game and get him used to our style of play.
