The story version that might help Starmer in the trial of the young men is that a shadowy Slavic figure paid these men to damage property associated with the PM, and it is that which connects them rather than direct personal dealings with Starmer. This could hint at the involvement of a hostile state actor, something which might get the PM off the hook if it could be shown there was a targeted operation to damage him. The risk for Starmer, if the hostile state actor dimension gains credibility, is that there is an alternative scenario involving a honey trap and blackmail. That would have really serious national security implications. Of course, these are just my ramblings and probably far from what has actually happened.
The Nick Brown scandal is the thing I don't get. Why the gagging order? Why no CPS involvement ?
A lot of MP's have skeletons in their cupboards and if one gets outed they'll likely drag others down with them.
Brown must have some salacious dirt to stop him being publicly thrown to the wolves.
From what I gather it's a very serious offence but he's just been allowed to slip off into retirement. As far as I'm aware he hasn't even been interviewed by the police.

Based on the last couple of years Badenoch appears to be the most capable leader, but one of a party in significant decline having pissed away years and many opportunities to reverse the national malaise. She's fighting well in service of a lost cause. A bit like William Hague was between 1997 and 2001.
She's in a no lose situation here though. Either Labour whips their MP's to support Starmer so the whole party will look like it's closing ranks to defend the undefendable, or they get a free vote and Starmer is probably toast and she gets to take the piss out of the Ginger Growler or Crazy Ed at PMQ's until the next election.
