As a kid I once asked Lee Harper to sign my programme whilst he was warming up before an away game at Oxford (I think). He jogged over, grabbed my marker, ignored the outstretched hand holding the programme and scribbled on my brand new Away Kit. I jumped back and told him that I wanted the programme signed whilst pawing at the shirt like he'd spat coffee on it. I'd never seen a more confused look on a grown man's face before or since. Not a QPR player, but a few months i ago I was sat on a Leeds to ondon train sitting opposite this fella with very long legs who was pissing me off invading my leg space. About 1 hr in to the journey i decided he looked familiar. Half hr later after i'd borrowed his paper i ask "are you Brian Deane". When he says "yes" all i can come out with was "i thought you looked familiar but thought it couldn't be you because I assumed as a footballer you'd be in 1st class". Then i asked whether it pi55ed him off that if he'd started playing a few years later he'd be on £80k a week and be getting chauffeured down the M1 rather than sitting in 2nd class with the likes of me. To be fair he took it pretty well, seemed like a really good bloke and spoke highly of NW. |  |

I worked in the US for a year or so and was out with the missus and a load of work colleagues in Vegas for a few nights during the 2010 World Cup. The England -US game was on about 10am-ish their time and so we'd all been steadily drinking all day and about 8pm-ish I'd lost my group and was roaming the New York New York casino in my Dennis the Menace Guiness R's replica kit when I heard the universally recognised C'mon you Super... call so I reciprocated as any half-cut R abroad would and turned to exchange pleasantries with a fellow hoop abroad. Those 22oz cocktails they serve in the pool bars in Vegas are a killer and it was only about five minutes into our chat and after the bloke and his mates had bought me a beer and a chaser that I twigged it was Magic Hat himself with Steve and a couple of other blokes who were something to do with the R's. Wound up drinking with them for an hour or so before being retrieved by some of my group probably to the relief of Kevin and co. Woke up the next morning with Steve's business card in my wallet and an angry girlfriend who was thoroughly annoyed by my incessant gibberish about being on the lash with a true R's legend. Never did get round to emailing Steve to see if he'd drunkenly promised to sort me a free box or anything. |  | | |

Took the then gf to the Bombay Brasserie in Gloucester Road for her birthday back in 98 or 99. There was a fund raising party going on in their conservatory area and a few famous faces were attending.
On attending the gents I unzipped at the urinal and was then joined by Terry Wogan on one side and Jeremy Beadle on the other. I couldn't take my eyes off of Beadles gammy hand against the wall as he and Wogan had a conversation across me.

used to drink in the same nightclub in ealing as Gallen, Sinclair and tony roberts. Being a shy type i never wanted to bother them but one night Trevor came over and started chatting, had a great night and used to see him for a drink or two after that for a while, what i didn't know at the time was that a mate of mine told Trev that i was mentally ill and had been let out on day release and it would mean the world if he spoke to me. Trev didn't realise it was a wind up and spoke to me like i was retard for several hours until i put him straight.
Then a few years on in my freshers week i was very drunk and headed to Grimsby to watch us lose 2-0 in our first season out of the prem. We were woeful and i lost the plot hurling abuse at the team, i was escorted out of the stadium by the corner flag as Trev took a corner and stopped to say "alright dave" before hitting the first man with a corner, the copper found it very funny and just let me go home.

My brother met John Gregory in Harrods just before bruv was running the London Marathon. Had a quick chat about football and sport, then Gregory pulled out a £50 note and said give it to your charity for the marathon. Bruv completed the marathon so sent a letter to Gregory at Sky Sports to thank him.
