Its not the result that pissed people off its the fact we had another toothless performance and were playing for a draw from the 1st minute. Id rather have seen us go there have a bloody good go and lose 2 or 3 nil, at least then we can say we were fairly beaten.

Tactics are tactics but why on earth we spent the summer hunting for a quality striker,find one,spend £13M or so in the process and then he's left on the bench just doesn't make practical sense. Just as well Bale wasn't playing.
Team selection does seem strange from the face of things - but considering we did well against Spurs with many of our star players on the bench, and remembering we are now involved in Europa as well, then these considerations and gambles have to be made.
It didn't pay off yesterday - but we still made a great performance against a much more expansive spurs team. Would have preferred we played against Man City yesterday - that's all (as they were pants). |  |

Putting aside the opposition, I was more worried by our tactics and team selection.
Playing deep, Bony left out, not Laudrups better day.
We invited Spurs to attack. By 30 minutes it was obviously a mistake but we didn't change it. And we didn't bring Bony on til 69 minutes, no sense in it. | |
