Sadly passed away today, underrated player in the World cup winning team.

Alf said he was always one of the first names on the team sheet.

RIP Nobby

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

He was guest speaker at a function in Blancos, Port Talbot, a number of years ago. Considering his achievements on the football field he seemed quite a modest, friendly man.

Great player.

I remember watching an interview with Alf ramsay. The interviewer asked him: "How heavy is Nobby Stiles?". Alf's reply was "Oh, about ten and a half stone. When he tackles, ten and a half tons". Proper old fashioned pro.

One of the games early holding midfielders, and a great "man marker"

Nobby was manager of Preston when we clinched promotion there in May 1981, and took survival out of their hands.

A few days later they won at Derby, but Cardiff drew against West Ham and stayed up. Preston were relegated and Nobby was sacked.

RIP Nobby

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

RIP Nobby, hard to believe for people of my generation that only 4 of the World Cup winning team are still alive, Charlton, Hurst, Hunt and Cohen.

Never knew getting old would happen so quick!
