what about smeg?
I got rid of two black granite pieces I used as a shop counter, had to virtually give them away about two years ago because of house move 7ft x 30". One of them I was hoping to keep for my grave,but weren't to be.
The fellah had them cut to size for his kitchen looked nice.
Try and buy second hand if you can. Will save a fortune.

My old man had some gents from Crofty do granite worktops. Measure, cut, fit with no hassle. Very happy with them. I'm assuming it was this company because I doubt there are many granite specialists in Crofty:
