Why is it ex players aren't taking up the whistle other sports seem to get more ex players becoming officials.

Why don't the Welsh FA the FA go in to Clubs and speak to the younger players because the success rate of youngsters becoming pros is low why not show them that becoming an official is a great way of staying in football.

Speaking as a ref myself only got as high as Welsh league and fourth official once on Welsh Premier it's a great way of being in football especially the younger you are getting to the top in Wales you could get on fifa list

The West Wales FA Referees' Officer, David Rees, is introducing initiatives to recruit new Referees. If anyone is interested he can be contacted through the WWFA Website. It's one way of giving something back to the sport.
